   This was booked on open table and confirmed by text message. However, when the party arrived, they said there was no table and we had to sit in the bar. The food was very good but it spoiled the occasion due to the mess up by the restaurant with the booking! Thanks Neil

   Another visit this time with a work colleague was was very impressed with the place and the food for the cost of it. We had the set menu. the starter of the Duo of Pate was again very good.

   Sunday evening dining was rather disappointing; not the usual experience we are generally used too. A lot of the choices we were hoping to try were not available and our alternatives were not up to the usual Golden Ball standard. The chips were luke warm and the roast potatoes were burnt and inedible. We won't be dining on a Sunday evening again and may dine at the Golden Ball sometime in the future?

   I had a meal here on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Mon I had the sirloin followed by the apple pie. Both were excellent and the steak really well cooked. Tuesday I opted for the set menu of pate followed by the chicken pie, again both well presented and cooked. More than enough food for myself with the 2 courses. The staff were very good on both days. Highly recommended.

   Booked this place online as i needed to find somewhere between M1, M18 and A1 for a business meeting. Pictures on OpenTable are an accurate reflection of the pub, and it was a very pleasant atmosphere inside, and staff very helpful and attentive. Satnav helped me find the place. Meals were very nice, and good value too, so overall was very pleased with the result! If i'm in the area again I'd definitely go back.

   We ate at the Golden Ball following a recommendation from a hotel we were staying at. The service and food were excellent and we ate from a Weekend Dining Menu which also included a bottle of wine, which made for great value for money.

   We were very disappointed with our booking with open table as the Golden ball did not have our reservation from you so had to sit in bar to eat. The comment the waitress made was don't book through you again as they have no communication with you. She actually said you were rubbish. I have used you many times and never had problem but if no communication with the resteraunt we shall not use again. it was a bank holiday as well.

   First time at The Gokden Ball but it won’t be my last! My husband was treating me for my birthday Sunday lunch and it was a nice surprise.Very welcoming staff although they were very busy.Served quickly when seated and the staff were very attentive.Good food and wine.
