   We went for the first time for the Friday Fish Fry. Good food, drink, and service at very reasonable prices. We will definitely be back!

   We had an awesome meal, but the servers were overwhelmed with all the tables they had to serve. So dinner took a little long. But once it got there, it was definitely worth it. Best prime rib I've had in years. Great value!

   If you like home cooking, you will love the Anchor. salids are fresh and chrisp, view over Pewaukee Lake is fantastic.

   Great Place! The Crab Cakes are excellent! Just like you would get in a New England village. Not spicy - that what hot sauce is for - let's the fresh crab do the talking!

   We tried the Golden Anchor because it was under new ownership. Table (reservation made in advance) was less than optimal, being right by the door on a cold night. Service was pleasant and reasonably attentive. Food was good but not outstanding. That was the general impression - nothing really bad about the restaurant but nothing really outstanding either. They told us they didn't have fresh cracked pepper because the kids they hired didn't know how to use the pepper mill(?? it's hard to train them??). Also, no chocolate dessert despite it being on the online menu. Ordered a glass of wine and doubt if it even was 4 oz. I wouldn't refuse to go back but I wouldn't go out of my way either.

   Came in for dinner. The restaurant atmosphere was nice and we were immediately greeted by a smile from the hostess. The waitress was very knowledgable on the menu and the specials. Food was excellent. We had the prime rib and the seafood pasta. I paired the pasta with creamy spinach and it was excellent! Overall a great experience, we want to go back for lunch so we can enjoy the backdrop of the lake!!

   Spent last Friday night there and as cold as it was the bar was nice and physically warm and ambiance was warm/cozy. Service was good. We made a reservation for 7 and requested a table down below and the one she had saved for us was not ready, but another was ready earlier and she gave us that one. So being seated early on a Friday is definitely a plus. Will go back again, and hopefully sometimes be able to see the lake.

    I made a last minute reservation with my son on Saturday night. We arrived earlier than the reservation, and sat for 10 minutes before being greeted. When we were greeted, we ordered, as my son (9) was starving, which I mentioned. The way I was asked, my entree sounded like it included soup or salad (it did not), which is fine. I ordered soup. 20 minutes later, it came out lukewarm. Although other tables had bread, we did not get any. Now, 30 minutes after sitting down, my son is really hungry. I ask the hostess for bread, as the server is doting on a 6 top to the exclusion of our table. The hostess says they usually charge for bread (really?), and I said that's fine. Just then, the server walks by and I ask for bread. She comes back a few minutes later with 2 pieces, and says that's "all the kitchen had." Again, seriously? Another 25 minutes go by, and we are finally served our meal, which my son devoured. My was good as well. Other tables seemed to be getting their food more quickly, but our server was scattered, and definitely not focused (she brought a kiddy cocktail, noticed she forgot the cherries, said she'd be right back, and never brought them - this is merely an example). If the place was full, I could understand, but it was half-full, and so while we might come back, I would ask for a different server.
