   I wanted to LOVE this place since we were dining with special friends prior to a Christmas Concert next door at the Goodspeed Opera House. The interior was very pretty, but missing that certain something. Many of the Christmas lights were out, the waiter could not find a match to light the candles on the table (???) and although there were many empty tables when we got there for an early dinner, they squished several other parties in next to us. The Prix Fixe dinner was a good deal and the food was very good. I would definitely recommend if going to the show next door since there are not a lot of choices in the area, but since we live about 90 minutes away, I would not return just for dinner

   Food was good and the holiday decorations quite nice. Service was slow but the place was packed. We were happy and the food was good once we received it.

   We had an early dinner, in the bar area, after a show at the Goodspeed. First time visitors. We had reserved for the bar area. Good service, tasty food. Wish there had been a bit more offered on the bar menu. We would like to return when the patio seating is available.

   We love the ambiance of the restaurant. The service was excellent. The location near the Goodspeed theatre works well, but the food was just ok. My cut of NY Strip was mediocre and not cooked as ordered.

   Nice setting. It’s a glassed-in room with a nice view of the river, and right next door to the Goodspeed Opera House. The Goodspeed website said they had a discount for show goers, but the waiter said he knew nothing about this, and we didn’t feel like arguing about it. They have a prix fixe menu with 3 entree choices - fish, prime rib, and chicken. Two of us ordered the prime rib only to be told that they were out of it. They did substitute a strip steak, but it was disappointing as we were both in the mood for prime rib. My wife also ordered the seafood chowder and they were out of that too. It’s hard for me to understand how an elegant restaurant plans so poorly to run out of their featured items so early in the evening - especially since the restaurant was nearly empty - only 3 or 4 other groups on a Sunday night. The food we got was good and the service was also fine. But at the end we all ordered coffee and dessert and unfortunately didn’t get the coffee until we had already finished the dessert. For the price, a little more attention to detail would have been appreciated.

   The service was VERY slow. There were not enough servers. We order from the price fix menu. I ordered prime rib and was told there wasn’t any prime rib that night and I replied it is on the menu. She said we are substituting tenderloin. We said we’ll have that. We ordered one medium rare and the other medium well. They both came medium rare. We asked for chocolate cake for dessert and was told they had run out. The restaurant was not very busy.

   Lovely location and ambiance. Prefer the summer more casual beer garden. The food was uninspired and pricey. Our server was lovely. Would recommend the beer garden.

   Fish and chips over cooked. Credit given. Chicken added to salad dry and over cooked. Didn’t tell server. Other people in our party said the burger was good as well as the shrimp covered with breading. Not good at refilling water glass!

    We were going to a show and due to unforeseen circumstances arrived late for our reservation. We were seated immediately and our service was excellent to get us out in time for the show. We were able to change the sides to our entrees without issue. The special, red snapper, was a very good portion as was the halibut. The filet mignon was prepared perfectly.
