   We had reservations for New Year’s Eve 5 course dinner. After being there for 3 hours we had only recieved first 2 courses and the meal was comped.

   Things really do happen for a reason 🤷‍♀️ For the past day or so I have been pondering about New Year's Eve: 🤔 whether to eat at Chatham Bars Inn at the Sacred Cod Tavern: {as the main restaurant: the Stars Restaurant: has a formal event planned (definitely not me 😜)}: or book something on Open Table🤔 as everywhere is probably full to capacity ‼️ I booked: I rebooked for somewhere else then went back to the original booking: then I cancelled and decided to eat at the Sacred Cod Tavern at CBI. I came downstairs to crowds and more crowds of people: (definitely not my scene and not my idea of peace and serenity). I rebooked my original restaurant with only 9 mins to my ETA but waze said 17 mins to get there. Oh well I went: I arrived a little tardy but so happy for fate. A lovely restaurant: a New Year's Eve menu with phenomenal choices. All the courses were delicious, the service exceptional and ambience relaxed, comfy and quiet❣️

   WE had eaten at The Flats shortly after it first opened and thought it okay Decided to try it again and was so impressed with the delicious food and service. Highly recommend.

   God was quite good, I had tenderloin my wife had haddock franchise. Service was spotty. Seemed understaffed and not experienced.

   Probably not. Someone at our table thought her wine wasn't any good, and wanted something else. The waiter accommodated her, but grudgingly. We waited a long time for our entrees. We were at the restaurant an hour and a half before our entrees came. My sister found a hair in the food. I thought the food was ok, but this was a celebration and the attitude and slow service definitely took away from the experience.

   Flash fried brussell sprouts a must have App. They readily substituted a risotto for a cous cous on my swordfish entrée.

    My two brother and spouse, my husband and I gathered for a special sibling evening. We had been there in early spring and enjoyed the service, the food and the sparse but tasteful elegance. We were very disappointed this time primarily due to the noise level. It was a busy evening and we found we could not have a full table conversation because it was so noisy. This factor alone affected everything. Service was ok but we could not hear the server. Other tables started yelling louder so they could communicate within their group. Dining in such an unpleasantly loud and disruptive environment is simply not enjoyable. I strongly urge the Flats to invest in noise baffles. Wood floors, no window treatments, no carpets,cathedral ceilings make this an echo chamber. If we had an evening that allowed dialogue my scores would be over a 4.
