   Our VA group had a great time and we loved the chicken pot pies----the vanilla pudding was outstanding. Our server was helpful and very friendly. We of course will be back again.

   Food was good but wait was close to an hour.Very noisy but not that busy! We would go back and try again because we loved the eclectic menu

   My mom and I decided to try this place for dinner. She ordered the chicken pot pie. She said there was so much sage in it that it completely overwhelmed the dish and that's all she could taste. I got the crab cakes. They were very tasty (but small for an entree), however the red beans and rice that came as a side was awful. First of all, it was barely warm and some of the rice was crunchy. It had almost no flavor. When the waiter came to clear our plates he didn't even acknowledge the full portion still left on my plate. Why did he not ask if something was wrong with my food?!? So basically I paid $20 for 2 very small crab cakes. Very disappointing. I will not go back.

   Second visit was just as great as the first. Everyone in our party was impressed with the flavor, presentation, quality, ambiance, and service. Will definitely be back!

   Overall the place was nice and cozy. The food was good but they were out of a few things that we asked about.

   Just ok. Wings were overcooked. Sandwiches are ordinary. Nice selection of beers.

   Wonderful lobster roll sandwich. More lobster and better ingredients (light on the mayo) than any other place in Milwaukee and that includes places that charge a lot more for a lobster roll. Excellent gooey cornbread, too, and the fried green tomatoes were outstanding. Our nice server brought our entrees before we were finished with appetizers but he quickly removed the entrees when we asked him to do so and brought them back at the right time and at the right temperature. I will definitely return and bring friends. Can't wait to try some of the cold-weather dishes. Street parking shouldn't be a problem in this nice family neighborhood. The Farmer's Wife is an unexpected hidden gem.

   We tried the fish fry and it's was delicious! My son got the crispy chicken sandwich and it was tender and juicy. We will definitively go back. Service was great and atmosphere was perfect for our family.

    We were seated promptly and conveniently for our party of 4. The fish fry was excellent - nice sized portion, very well prepared - crispy, not at all greasy. They have very good French fries. The baked cod was also well prepared, with flavorful, fresh-tasting tartar sauce. One of our party ordered the lobster mac 'n' cheese and thought he would definitely order that again in the future. Service was nicely paced. The Farmer's Wife herself came around to check that our food was satisfactory.
