   We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and this was a perfect spot to do so. It was quiet, the food and the service were excellent and we were able to have a very enjoyable and leisurely meal.

   Once again my girlfriend and I had a marvelous meal (and wine) at the Epicurean! The selections were varied and the service was great. The waiter took time out to explain the range of wines appropriate for our dinners. His recommendation was wonderful and I particularly enjoyed the time that he took with us to educate us on the selection.

   This is a gem in the Capital District where finding good authentic French food is so hard. The atmosphere is lovely, great bar tender wonderful waiter and fantastic food. We will definitely be going back. Highly recommend.

   We were the only people in the restaurant but our food was overcooked. Service was good. But it was a lot of money for meh food.

   This was our first visit to Epicurian for the Mother's Day Brunch. The selection was excellent. My son and I had the omelettes with a nice selection of ingredients. Another highlight was the sliced steak, cooked very rare. A nice option to the standard Roast Beef carving station. Salad bar was a nice selection of leafy greens, dried cranberries and the usual cut up vegetables. I also sampled the French Toast, cheese board and chocolate croissants. The brunch was well stocked, until we were about to leave, maybe waiting to refresh it for the next seating. My only complaint would be that the teens I was dining with certainly didn't eat $40. worth of food, so it is hard to justify the price, other than for a special occasion. On the positive side, there was no pressure to leave, as we sat talking and enjoying our coffee and desserts, in fact I had to ask for the bill, when we were ready to go. At other Mother's Day Buffets, we've been handed the check and made to feel that they needed the table for the next party. This was not at all the case at Epicurian, so I definitely enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. We were also handed a discount voucher for a return visit upon leaving.

   There have been several personnel changes in the service staff and also in the kitchen. However, Epicurean is still arguably the best French restaurant in the area and one of the best restaurants of any type in the Capital Region.

    Where else in the tri-city area can you get scrumptious duck confit and floating island in two flavors? The food at The Epicurean is so delicious, whether you are going for small plates at the wine/beer bar or for a several course dinner in the dining area. Our meal was special from the Oysters Epicurean to the Beef Bourguignon and Duck Confit to the Floating Island (we selected the classic in crème anglaise and also a chocolate meringue floating in a raspberry sauce - both were wonderful). We have also been guests at the beer dinners held at The Epicurean. They are a real treat from the craft beer selections to the accompanying courses.
