   Booked through open table on arrival was told they stopped doing open table and refused to give us a table walked about twenty yards and got a table in the smoke shack couldn't be more helpful and food was excellent

   Loved this wee gem of a place . The fish & chips were fantastic, staff so helpful. Would definitely recommend

   A friendly and warm small pub with excellent food and an entertaining quiz on a Wednesday night. Well worth booking a table if you plan to go in as it was pretty busy on the Wednesday we went.

   Meeting some 'pals' for a few beers and some food... Excellent service, nice seating area, pleasant atmosphere, excellent food. What's not to like...

   Went for after-work drinks and nibbles. Delicious wine, delicious food, great service. Small, vibrant find with nice atmosphere and mix of people.

    We enjoyed our meal at The Empress of Broughton Street. We chose this restaurant as we were easily able to get a reservation for 5 people on OpenTable. When we arrived, they seemed confused by our reservation, until I mentioned OpenTable and then they sat us immediately. The menu is simple with just Flatbreads, Burgers and a few Main dishes. We got 3 different flatbreads - Chorizo, goat cheese and caramelized onions, the Meatball and the Avocado, feta and sundried tomato - all of these were delicious. Our group also had the fish and chips and ribs - both of these were great as well. Service was quite friendly despite some of our high maintenance requests. Would definitely recommend!
