Upstairs at the Duke is modern and fresh. However, service is a little slow, even when not busy. There is a notable lack of lunch specials, with most meals in the mid to high $20s, so not ideal for CBD workers wanting to have a lunch time catch-up. The food is okay but not amazing. Some things were unnecessary, such as oversalting of the sweet potato fries.

The staff were really friendly and happy to help, my only issue was that I felt the food may have been too overcooked for my liking. The lasagna croquettes were fantastic though :)

The food was not up to the standard that I was expecting for the price that it was. Very disappointing dinner.

Initially booked for two people via open table then later called the restaurant directly 4 times over two days to add a third person to the booking. No body answered any of my four attempts to call to amend the booking although I was able to e-mail the restaurant and make the amendment successfully this way. I also requested a booth table, however upon arriving I was advised that the booth area had been booked out for function. The service was good and attentive and the food was good but overpriced ($50 for one cocktail and one main meal). Will not be going back. Would only recommend if you're in a really big group 15 people or more as there were two big groups like this near us and they appeared to be having a great time.

We were initially a little confused about where we needed to go, but when we arrived, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food is great pub grub but a little more upmarket. The beer selection is a little too craft for my taste, so went for a ginger beer which was lovely. We advised the wait staff that we had limited time as we were headed to the theatre and they accommodated us wonderfully to ensure our meals were prompt. We all enjoyed our food and will certainly return.

The Duke provided excellent service and understanding noting we had to move the booking right 30 minutes. The staff were excellent, including remembering the drinks choices of the entire table without needing to ask.
