   Probably the best fish & chips I’ve had. Batter was amazing, Seaweed salted chips were very tasty and I loved the peas. My guest had sea bass and that was equally delicious. Lovely ambiance and a thoroughly nice meal to brighten up a very wet day. Thank you

   Excellent food and service. Certainly one of the best places to eat in East Kent right now.

   Met family who were staying nearby so we drove down from Sevenoaks and the lunch, pub and service did not disappoint - all round excellent, so we will return.

   Food was excellent no doubt about it but overpriced and a restaurant if that price range should not have lots of flies buzzing around your head and food whilst eating - wouldn’t go back !

   Decided to go here after doing some research on best place to eat near where we were staying. So glad we chose to go there. A very well furnished pub using the theme of The Dog . Friendly staff and food excellent. Would highly recommend.

   Amazing food and nice cosy feel. Decor was on the right side of unique and quirky. Service was impeccable so was the presentation and the food. Will definitely be coming to sample some more of the menu

   Tough lamb. Subpar side of carrots. Good chips and deserts but I can get that in many places. Previous interior civlized ambience is deteriorated. Nice staff but doesnt compensate for mix of avg and below avg quality food. No longer an upmarket restaurant-pub. Thus overpriced for what it is. Cannot recommend.

   My husband and I booked lunch for our 2 year wedding anniversary and were lucky enough to sit outside in the patio garden as the weather was so lovely. The service we received from the moment we arrived and throughout our lunch was impeccable! The staff were friendly, personable and incredibly helpful. The food was utterly delicious! I ordered the heritage tomatoes to start; there are very few ingredients so there's no where to hide! The balance of flavours was perfect! My husband had the ham hock croquette which was melt in the mouth and was complimented by a delightful caramelised apple sauce. The mains were exquisite! I had bravette of beef (slow cooked with treacle) & my husband had duck, both were packed full of flavour and the meat was incredibly tender. My husband had a cheese board and I couldn't resist the passion fruit cheesecake with mango sorbet for dessert - the flavours were sublime! We were then treated to a blood orange sorbet with chocolate 'happy anniversary' message - a perfect finish to a perfect lunch! The bar has an excellent choice of beers/ales and there is an extensive gin menu. We can't wait to go back and we're even considering their dine & stay package so we can really enjoy ourselves! I highly recommend the Dog at Wingham - it's by far the best food we've had for a long time!

    I have now been to The Dog three times. I have enjoyed it each time. I am a vegetarian and this restaurant does a great job at producing tasty and aesthetically pleasing dishes. The staff are not overly friendly, but the atmosphere and menu options make up for that. The soups have been exceptional and the well balanced plate options have been different each time, which appeals to me. Desserts are also exceptional and portioned well, not too much and not too little. I almost don’t want to right this review as I may not be able to get in if everyone knows about this gem!
