"The Eatery is a fun, friendly, whimsical and quirky place to visit with a great atmosphere. We love fresh, punchy, vibrant food! You can see this in our lunchtime offering with the likes of our flatbreads or 'amazebowls' and a firm favourite, the ‘manwhich’ , a toastie filled with sriratcha candied bacon, gammon, roast beef, caramelised onion, cheddar, chilli sauce and topped with a fried egg! In the evenings we have uncomplicated, flavoursome favourites like wild garlic butter chicken kiev and whole bream and caper butter with samphire and hasselback potatoes. We do wholesome roasts on a Sunday with a lean towards sharing joints like the 6hr braised shoulder of lamb, with lighter options available in the summer months. We are open for tea and cake (gluten free cakes available), breakfast is available on Friday and Saturdays. Local ales, ciders and wine available.

All of our food is freshly prepared daily and made with love!

Took my wife and two daughters to lunch. Greeted, as usual, with a lovely smile. My three ladies ordered bubble and squeak, expecting it to be like Mother makes, but this was bubble and squeak with a twist, filling was potato plus shredded carrot and white cabbage slightly undercooked. I had a wonderful brownie with a scoop of ice cream. The puddings were scrumptious! We will continue to visit this lovely restaurant.

It was our first visit last Friday but hopefully won’t be the last at this Curious Eatery! The menu is very unusual and caters for all appetites I would say.Portion size is generous and the dishes are very attractively presented. We chose those dishes with the African influence and were not disappointed. The staff were jolly and looked after us very well all evening from a warm friendly welcome to a nice chat about how we had enjoyed the evening at the end.

Loved the quirky ambience it was cosy and comfortable, very relaxing. Traditional Sunday lunch with very tender roast beef with a good selection of vegetables. The Christmas Wreath for dessert merangue with spiced seasonal berries was delicious . The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely return soon.
