   The front door was locked. There was one old man inside eating in the corner. Everyone seemed surprised to see us there, even though we had a reservation. After they unlock the door and I explained we had a reservation and wanted to sit outside. We were taking outside where the tables were not set up properly. No one else was there and it seemed like the weight staff and kitchen staff were all just sitting around, laughing and staring at us in another language. They went to get menus and my bunch partners and I just looked around and thought I think we’ll go somewhere else.

   The Crumb has become one of my favorite go tos for weeknight dinners for it’s low key ambience and fantastic eats. The salads - all of them - especially the kale cesar are generous and delicious. The apps have yet to disappoint especially like the wings and fish tacos. They are savory and well portioned and the service has been excellent. Love this neighborhood gem.

   Service was inconsistent. Ordered lattes, later told the machine was broken. Ordered latkes as an appetizer, quickly followed by my entree. My friend’s meal came a good 10 minutes later. Server did not check in with us again. A different staff person brought us the bill. Our food was good but the service will keep me from returning.

   We had a delicious dinner at The Crumb on a Thursday night. The eclectic menu of small and shared plates was just what we were looking for. We shared the sweet potato rounds, mushroom empanadillas, and soba noodles (see eclectic…) and all were memorably mouthwatering. Highly recommend checking out this place in the old Liberty Cafe site.

   So nice to see this addition to the neighborhood. Food was delicious. I hope they add more small plates and hope they change them up - that would be fun. Definitely plan on going back and recommending to others.

    A new restaurant that is finding its footing. The staff is generally nice, though they kept on asking if we have decided on what to get when we have ordered already. The food is so-so. The dishes had interesting concepts but definitely needed a bit more seasoning or less creativity. For ex, the steak crostini didn't feel like it had a good mix of ingredients. The steak was well-cooked but too difficult to chew with one bite (as a tapas). The cheese was overwhelming the steak's flavor. It would have better if they cut it up into a smaller size or just replace the cheese. The chicken wings took a long time. What ultimately came felt needed more seasoning. The consistency of the sauce was not thick enough to match. The curry butternut squash was flavorful though, and it was a good dish to order since it was very cold that day. (I also wish they didn't keep the front door opened as the temperature felt like it was the same as being in the outdoors.) I imagine they will get better with time, but for now do not feel enticed to go back.
