   This was the first time we'd been to the restaurant, we were happy with the menu, with our choice from the menu and the quality of the food when it arrived. Yes, we'd recommend this restaurant to friends.

   A bewildered welcome from a member of temporary staff but then we were rescued by a very friendly efficient lady. The conservatory was cool tired & unwelcoming. We were seated in a strange square room - like someone’s sitting room but all magnolia with tables set for breakfast! Sat by the door & it was cold. Items off but on the menu & chef shouting out to the staff to give alternatives. Duck over cooked & mushroom risotto with boiled rice. The wine was excellent and well priced.

   Both Nick and Sue who served us at the Coach House were friendly, knowledgeable and fun. The meal was superb and the ambience great. Low level music - which was welcome. Often we go to restaurants which has music far too loud. There is also seating outside with a lovely view - great when the weather permits. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

   We really enjoyed our meal here. The staff were very welcoming and we enjoyed our pre dinner drinks on the beautiful terrace overlooking the stunning countryside. The service continued to be very good and the food was delicious. Lovely restaurant in a lovely hotel.

   We arrived punctually for our reservation and replied that we were ready to go to the table when offered a choice of that or having a drink in the lounge. Apparently going to the lounge first is expected and guests put in their orders there, not at the table. After that we were treated as total pariahs the entire evening. If that were not enough, servers kept running through the small dining room (between kitchen and lounge?) Making haste is one thing but in the small elegant dining room it was disruptive and this went on throughout the meal. We got French uppity waiter attitude and I hate to tell them, this isn't France. Actually most French waiter are much nicer. I certainly would never go there again or send anyone to them after this experience.

   I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your meal with us and it seems we got off to a bad start by suggesting a relaxing drink in the conservatory while you order, which you are correct in assuming is what most of our guests want to do. although we do have guests who just want to go straight to their table however and that isn't a problem! You don't comment on the food which hopefully means it met with your satisfaction but after your comments I suspect we won't have the pleasure of seeing you again.

   We went to the Coach House for my husband's birthday meal. The food was outstanding, we had the cheese souffle and salmon mousse for starters and wild rabbit and lamb for mains. The service was excellent as well, great attention to detail. Would love to visit again!

   Excellent food served to a high standard and superb service. Small criticism - portions of deserts could be a little bigger. Chocolate tart slice one size one evening, smaller the next. Need to have consistency when diners dining for more than one night.
