   My fish (can’t remember what kind) was very, very good. My husband’s paella was ok, but lacked the crunchy-at-the-edges rice that paella should have, and the mussels in it seemed over-cooked. (Granted, I am picky.) We ate on the outside patio. What was odd was they never turned on the strings of lights above. And with no candles on the tables, it was very dark. I asked one of the staff members if the lights would be turned on (it would have made it much more festive!). He told us they only turn in the lights when there’s live music. What the heck? As we walked away we looked back and it was SO dark you couldn’t even tell if they were open. Meanwhile, outdoor dining at Taco Dive Bar down the street was lit up and looked very jolly. Dear Central - I think if you turn on the lights above the patio, you’ll get more customers. And it will be more pleasant for diners.

   Just stopped for the night in Peekskill and do pleasantly surprised with central. Great food and great service.

   We happened to be attending a show at the Paramount in Peekskill and didn’t know the restaurants. I go by reviews and came upon the good reviews for The Central. The restaurant did not disappoint from the service and friendliness of the manager and staff to the very good food. Will definitely be back.

   We had a great night here. The server was wonderful, the food was excellent. It was super loud in there from some people at the bar. I don't know what they could do to absorb sound in there. That was the only thing it was loud.

   Brunch eggs benedict outstanding. Nice job on Bloody Mary as well. Have dined at Central a few times. Creative, next level food. Good value.

   The restaurant has a cool vibe. It's in an old station house next to the Peekskill train stop. There is lots of wood and the bar has an old brick wall. I've been here twice and the menu was the same both times. It would be nice to see them move things around and highlight some new items. The food is solid, with good portions that are seasoned nicely. The service has been excellent both times. Because it's next to the train and the building is old, it can sometimes be loud in there with the exterior noise and interior noises of people talking. Overall, I think it's a good spot and I recommend it to friends.

    I love the relaxed feel of this place and the live vegetation that grows behind the bar is beautiful! While the menu is small, there is something to satisfy everyone. The drink menu is always interesting and geared towards the season. All staff are friendly and helpful!
