   Very quiet Sunday evening, hence little ambience, however a beautifully decorated dining room overlooking pretty garden. The main roast meats had gone but were offered a suitable, well cooked alternative. Portion sizes just right; friendly waiting staff.

   Lovely venue to meet up with friends, great service and reasonable food. The menu is quite limited and needs to change more often.

   As usual the food was excellent, but as found at my last visit we waited a long time before being served, mainly due as I see it to lack of waiters, having said that the staff were very apologetic, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Just one other thing, you might want to consider making the car park bigger, had to park on road again.

   Disappointing - did not live up to my previous experience at this restaurant. Vegetarian carrot fritters were awful: far too salty, stodgy, little flavour of the vegetables they contained. Seemed as if they had been cooked a long time beforehand and reheated to satisfy our order. Also too big, served with too little vegetable accompaniment, and, given the relative cost of the ingredients, very expensive compared to the meat alternatives. The serving staff were extremely helpful and attentive, but the wait time for food was unacceptably long. It was more than an hour and a quarter after we sat down that we were served our main course. I think this is unacceptably long Prior to this visit, I would have recommended the Carpenters' Arms, but I would no longer do so. I'm very disappointed.

   Another memorable night at The Carpenters Arms where we enjoyed excellent food, wine and service. Keep up the great work; we shall be back very soon!!

   The food here is superb - fresh, seasonal ingredients make for a very special meal. The English asparagus with wild garlic and a crispy egg was a particular highlight for me. The decor is joyous. If I lived further away I could justify a stay in one of the bedrooms.

   Great food, but overpriced. All high quality and well presented. Prompt and friendly service. £18 for a lunch fish and chips and £9 for a pudding is too much.

    We really enjoyed the food the atmosphere was great. Nice decor a good value. The service was a little slow twice e had to go and find someone to take order and deliver bill
