   I was planning to serve Baklava Cheesecake for the Christmas Eve. So I called and inquire about the price for a whole dish and I was told it's around $19. However when I went to the Bright Star Restaurant in Bessemer, AL on that same day, the lady cashier informed me that it's around $19 for a slice of cheesecake. I was disappointed but I went ahead and verified it again with a waitress and she went to talk to the same cashier and came back with the same answer. Though I was offered to try there other pies which are around $19 for a whole dish... I just took a deep sigh and politely left.

   This was our third visit to the Bright Star. Each visit at least one or more of our party had the snapper throats. Excellent! My only disappointment was the lack of my favorite item: fried whole catfish - - "on the bone." Please consider this tasty addition!

   Marvelous food & service in a beautiful elegant old restaurant. Highly recommend it if you are in the greater Birmingham area.

   The food was great! We had the shrimp plate and stuffed snapper! It was incredible. Jimmy let us sample the gumbo and they gave us a piece of pie complimentary because it was our anniversary. The staff and service was tremendous as always. I travel the country and eat at a lot of great restaurants but this is my favorite restaurant. We also ate in the Bear Bryant room.

   We were told this was an experience in true old fashioned service and food. It was exactly like walking into a restaurant in the early 1900's with fabulous food and service. If you are near Birmingham you don't want to miss it. And all of the original wall murals are being restored and they are amazing!! I can't wait to go back!!

   This was a very pleasant surprise for me, while visiting Alabama on business. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. I love the history of this place, and spent at least fifteen minutes looking at all of the photos of famous people who have been here. I highly recommend this restaurant to those who want to experience something unusual.

   This restaurant is AWESOME. It is in an old building with multiple dining areas including several walled off separate dining nooks. It reeks of history and memorabilia are everywhere including Bear Bryant's own private dining booth. The menu is awesome, food outstanding and service second to none. Seafood is the specialty with most items having their Greek heritage oozing out to please the pallet. A must try.

    Superb experience! Food was wonderful, from the appetizer to . . . . (well, we didn't have dessert, but you get the idea). Service plenty attentive but not intrusive. Odd drink request executed perfectly by the bartender. A wonderful evening--thanks so much, Bright Star!!
