   Haven't been to the black horse in a while, unfortunately the outdoor area seems to have been let go a bit with it being quite messy, dog poo on the grass and broken benches. it's disappointing that there's not a sandwich/snack menu on Sundays as not everyone wants to come along for a full roast or dinner.

   A bit spit and sawdust but a great friendly ambiance with lovely helpful staff. I had the mixed roast and every ingredient was lovely. I washed it down with a nice Taylors ale. Dessert was equally tasty and I will be back.

   Having visited many times before , we were left disappointed this time. The food took along time to come out. When it did the waitress brought it out one plate at a time with at least 2-5 mins gap. There was 9 of us. Half of the food was cold. The meat pie very chewy. The roast that my daughter had , had cold veg, a tiny stuffing ball which was like concrete and was inedible, And a tiny leg of chicken. It was such a shame. However The staff are lovely and they did not charge us for the roast and removed the service charge. I hope this was a just a one off

   Have visited a few times now and always great food, great service and friendly. Try to visit when in the area and have not been disappointed with anything about the place. A great welcoming pub.

   We have been coming here periodically for a Sunday Roast for some time and certainly rated as one of the best locally both for food, service and value for money. As usual there was a warm welcome. Service was good and food really great quality. For a restaurant roast there is always plenty of meat however we were a little disappointed to only get two roast potatoes? It seems they have also taken their legendary cauliflower cheese off the menu which is disappointing. I would absolutely always recommend this gem of a pub for dinner but please please bring ack the cauli cheese!! ;-)

   Spent Easter day in this delightful pub, first time here , will definitely be back service was great as we're the waitresses. The good was exceptional nothing was too much trouble looking forward to coming back.

   Great family gathering with good quality, plentiful food in a family pub. Service was excellent and we loved our private room.

   We had been told to try this out with the new owners in place. Was very disappointing, food was OK, glasses were dirty and would not rush back which is a shame because it is a nice location and the staff were nice.

   The lady who served us was absolutely brilliant. Such a lovely person who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She deserves to be told. Delicious home cooked food. Would recommend this pub to everyone. Particularly the staff and the chef as well with special dietary requirements.

    This pub used to be much better. Seems to have gone down hill of late. Not sure the reason but I hope they turn it around
