   We took my grandmother here for a Christmas Meal on Sunday. They placed us where I requested which was out of the way and next to a radiator so the positioning was perfect. We both wanted smaller portions as I'd been here before and knew how generous the mains sizes are! The other three had full size and were very happy too. The roasts we had were great - all the trimmings perfectly cooked only the meat (lamb and gammon) was tough. The gravy was good - and we had three portions of pigs in blankets to share and a side of cauilflower cheese which made the meal perfect. Two of us shared the christmas pudding with brandy sauce. The facilities were excellent - I was able to easily get my grandmother into the restaurant and to the loos with her walker. The service was good - maybe sometimes a little too quick but no complaints. In total the bill came to 90 pounds for the 5 of us - sans alcohol. I fully recommend this pub for the family friendly atmosphere, great service and clean well presented layout. Excellent food - you couldn't ask for more from a Sunday lunch! Thank you!

   The only problem we had was that the table for six we were seated at had a short table. This meant that whoever sat at the end had a long reach between their (fixed) seat and the table. Luckily we were able to shuffle our six year old between his parents and move the table up to one end.

   The food and the service was very good, Sunday lunch was value for money. We will be going back soon.

   Booked a table for 3 for 1900 on Saturday 7th September. Arrived to find that there was a "function" going on in the dining room and there was no space. Despite having booked 4 days ahead, their best offer was a small table in a noisy bar area next to where a disco was being set up - presumably for when the diners had eaten and were ready to boogey the night away. We were unimpressed - so we left without eating and went elsewhere. Very shabby treatment.

   The Sunday lunch was very tasty, we had the Chicken and Beef. The portions were very generous on the lunch. The apple pie dessert portion was a bit small, especially given the amount of cream provided with it but all still really tasty and would definitely go again. The service was very quick and lovely, friendly staff.

   This place is a lovely place to enjoy a meal the atmosphere is amazing family friendly and friendly service and staff Was a few little problems with the meal but nothing major but they did come and see us to explain the problem Would definitely recommend this restaurant/pub

   Room in definite need of attention - chairs worn etc - did look like work in progress though Didn't like the TV on - not what I expect unless I am going for a low budget eatery such as Weatherspoons - another customer turned it off Yorkshire pudding was burnt - food otherwise Ok Not sure if new staff or not but one girl serving was really scruffily dressed and 2 of them lacked confidence in their approach - perhaps they were learning still Got fed up of being asked if everything was OK - even when we had no food in front of us! Must have been asked about 10 times during our visit by different staff Don't think I will be returning for a while
