The Bell at Old Sodbury is just a 5 minute walk east of the ancient market town of Chipping Sodbury, nestled at the foot of the Cotswolds and within striking distance of both Bath and Bristol, just north of the M4 and east of the M5.

Went to the badminton horse trials and booked different restaurant every night,was by far the best lovely Spanish manageress passionate about the place,friendly staff,great service oh and the food was spot on,six of us had five different meals,we all enjoyed five stars

Each of the meals was delivered in good time, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, their attendance was a good balance, always there but not hovering like in some establishments. The meals themselves were well prepared and presented. Generally, I cannot fault the evening. The room was great, temperature was perfect for dining, all in all a great experience. I will be back!

Unfortunately the waitress misheard my order of Hake for Sea Trout despite there being a conversation about how many. We were encouraged to take the two incorrect dishes at a discount. However it was my birthday and I really wanted what I'd ordered. Mistakes happen but I probably won't go back. Pork sharing starter was lovely.

The liver was too thin and therefore overcooked, the steak was very good (reasonable price), the lamb was very good ( where was the sausage ? ) the curry was excellent. I would recommend this pub and also the sister pub The Swan at Nibley.

Sunday lunch. Great service and friendly staff. The lunch was beautifully cooked with fresh vegetables. We have visited several times and it remains very good value.

My wife and I have ate at the Bell on several occasions, and have always enjoyed the food, which for where the pub is located, is a reasonable price. This was the first time we had been there on a Sunday lunch time, and from previous visits we were looking forward to a nice dinner to celebrate a special Valentines date for us. On this occasion, meat-wise there was only a Sunday roast available, so we ordered roast pork and lamb, so there shouldn't be any problems, but unfortunately not. Our first meals were cold so we sent them back, including the vegetables, which had clearly been in a microwave oven. When the second meal arrived, the vegetables we were given were the ones we'd sent back, despite the waitress saying they would be replaced with a fresh ones. In general, the second meal was only just hot enough, but then we come to scenario of "if I send this back too I'll be right off eating anything". I'll bet many people have reached that scenario but do nothing about it? When our second dinners arrived, we had to ask the waitress for the parsnips that were to be part of our meal, along with apple sauce, mint sauce and cauliflower cheese that was included. These eventually arrived one at a time, with the cauliflower cheese being presented in a soup dish, and the cauliflower was so under cooked my wife gave up trying to have some. Also, why do so many eateries serve hot meals on cold plates? Admittedly the cost our dinners were taken off our bill, but it's a pity this happened at all, and the dessert menu isn't that great.

very disappointing. Been many times but Sunday lunch was very average. Chicken was fine but husband's pie of the day although the filling was tasty there was more pastry than anything. A pie, small amount of mashed potato and veg was charged at nearly £12 and certainly not worth the money. At one time the food was very good but it seems to have gone downhill.
