   The rooftop menu needs more options and the food was mediocre. The drinks were ok. It was cold so the heaters didn't really help. The stools were very uncomfortable as they should put better seating up there.

   This was a date night , nice dinner occasion, as we were staying at The Waters. I am in a dress and heels, and when we arrived at the restaurant we were told that the restaurant was closed. No one called or let us know, pretty terrible customer service. It was Labor Day weekend and everyone was booked, and we had to walk all up and down downtown in my heels and dress. No help, no refund or discount, nothing.

   Arrived at the restaurant to learn that they were closed due to COVID issues. The hotel’s front desk clerk said they would alert the restaurant’s management that the restaurant still showed availability on OpenTable for that evening despite the restaurant being closed. There was another family of 6 that also arrived to learn of the closure. Everyone was very disappointed. I don’t know why we weren’t notified, but it was very difficult to find another restaurant that could accept us on short notice. Ended up getting in the car and driving to the Bugler at Oaklawn and had an incredible meal. Highly recommend it.

   I cannot actually review this restaurant because we showed up for our Saturday night reservation to find the restaurant was closed. It did have a sign that said they would be closed for breakfast, but that’s it. We did not receive any notification that the restaurant would be closed so we drove thirty minutes into town for nothing. Even the bar upstairs wasn’t serving food (I’m not sure why) so we had to come up with a new plan but close to everywhere had long waits. I was disappointed with the total lack of communication.

   After a long day of activities on Bath House Row, we arrived at The Avenue at the Waters Hotel, only to find that they were completely out of food and were only serving drinks on the rooftop. This was due to staffing issues. Although, I do realize that many businesses are impacted by staffing issues at this time, it was really disappointing to not have anyone call us and let us know that we should make alternative dinner plans. Reservations book very quickly at restaurants on Bath House Row, so by the time we were made aware by the hostess, we had no other choices to sit and dine. The Avenue at The Waters Hotel, should really remove the ability to make dinner reservations in Open Table as they re-staff.

   Best of luck to you all. Total of four tables on a Thursday night and all of us looking at each other wondering where our waiter was… Hanna saved the night.

   We were expecting more, better quality. It wasn't horrible by any means but the hype didn't materialize. One and done.

   My spouse really liked the clam dish. I had the rib eye and baked potato. I thought the steak was too lean meaning a ribeye should be marbled and this was dry and a bit tough. My baked potato was under cooked so not steamy and fluffy- more like cold and a bit chunky.
