   The food was first rate, a real dining experience. The staff were very friendly, helpful, knowledable and supremely professional. They made our visit to the restaurant a very pleasurable one. The surroundings were in keeping with the old house and we felt most comfortable. We will return.

   Beautiful house!! We had a fun family time here before dinner. the food is decent, delicious. but I won't say it's "ammmmmazing" except the raspberry and rose dessert - best ever rose chocolate. The garden here is definitely AMAZING. If you have never been here, it's worthy a visit!!

   Great evening, celebrating my other half's birthday. Was a shame the surprise birthday dessert I pre ordered and checked it had been ordered on a separate phone call didn't happen but other than that was perfect. Thank you

   We had dinner at the Avenue to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant was quite small but not as stuffy as I was expecting. The staff were friendly. The starters were fine, but the mains were not. I had halibut which had been over cooked and was dry and my husband had bass which was bland. We had to chase our wine order, twice. The cheese was nice but we were given a plate not offered a selection which would have been preferable. We ordered a taxi but were not told it has arrived we eventually found it ourselves waiting for us outside and had been for 10 minutes. Overall a really disappointing experience, the food was uninspired and not well cooked, had far better plates of food in bistros - plus the underwhelming evening cost over £200!!! We won't do that again.

   As lovely a setting and venue as ever and some new staff since we last visited. They were very attentive and knew the menu and so were able to describe the dishes very well, without it feeling like it was a script. Gin cocktails before were lovely and in a beautiful room. ideal for a romantic evening. The food was inspired and confidant, the only weakness was the small scallop starter and the main course again being at the mean end of the spectrum. Lots of flavour, it was just too small and the presentation was odd for one of the dishes. The Guinea Fowl with Quails egg was superb! Someone had tried just a bit too hard to make an impressive display for the plate with the other dish and wasn't as accomplished as the actual flavour. The pud was divine! The food and environment are excellent, although we noticed the prices have crept up since our last visit

   Very enjoyable, although somewhat pricey. Definitely for special occasions.

   Fabulous tasting menu (compliments to the chef) with a must do wine flight to accompany. Hats off to the Head Sommelier.
