116 at The Athenaeum, our contemporary, British restaurant, features quintessential British decadent Mayfair Afternoon Tea. Served with premium English tea, lovingly crafted cakes, sandwiches, and scones served with clotted cream and Tiptree Jam. Afternoon Tea is an inclusive experience having vegan, vegetarian, savoury, and gluten-free options.

The Bar is a secret hideaway wrapped in the hotel's Living Wall. Featuring intimate nooks and plush seating, guests can sip on signature cocktails, savour a whiskey from our extensive collection, nibble on light bites, or perform a whiskey masterclass. The secret garden extends to the outdoor Terrace. Guests can enjoy the full bar menu outdoors, on plush seating, sheltered by large umbrellas with heaters and blankets during the colder months.

Fancies & Foliage Afternoon Tea includes exquisite cakes, handcrafted sandwiches, and a unique blending experience that features a natural cocktail and tea blending trolley, all of which will follow nature’s changing cues. Launching on Thursday 1st May 2025. LAUNCH OFFER Bookings made by 4th May for the Fancies & Foliage Afternoon Tea blending experience will be booked at the existing price of £45 per person. AFTERNOON TEA MENUS Starting at £70 per person, The Afternoon Tea features unlimited teas and sandwiches. Options include Maldon Cured Smoked Salmon with horseradish crème fraiche, Coronation Chicken with fresh coriander on khobez bread and Singaporean Kaya Eggs on overnight sourdough. After indulging in warm scones, served with Tiptree jam and English clotted cream, enjoy our nature-inspired sweet fancies, carefully displayed cakes on a stand resembling a blossoming tree, feasting on Matcha and Yuzu Cheesecake, Mimosa Cake, Forest Rose Tart, and Strawberry and Cream Cake. Each season, Executive Chef Kevin Fawkes and his culinary team craft a delicate fondant fancy as a nod to this timeless classic. Options for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free available. Please let us know dietary requirements on booking. A RITUAL AS UNIQUE AS YOU The ritual builds on the hotel’s ethos of “Stay Individual”. Guided by our team, guests explore 45 bespoke ingredients — crafted by renowned Master Tea Blender Alex Probyn — including English-grown tea from Cornwall by Tragothnan, and seasonal botanicals like cherry black, coconut fruit and rose petals. After a few thoughtful questions, your perfect blend is revealed. Enjoyed a fabulous afternoon tea and the team even had a snack box for my pooch which was just amazing - so hospitable. Would go back and would definitely recommend

We have been to this establishment a number of times. although the service is very good , they had forgotten it was our Anniversary , although mentioned on the booking form. The place was very quite and looking very tired. food was acceptable but not exciting.

Service was slow. Took around five minutes to be seen and seated. And it didn’t overly quick up afterwards I’m afraid. That said, the service was polite and friendly. The afternoon tea was good, I enjoyed it! Overall, it was average.
