   Nice simple menu but plenty of choice. A good pub with plenty of room for eating or just for a drink. Outside area looked good with a pizza oven, will try that next time.

   Service and food very good although thought the food a little bit pricey. It was quite noisy where we were as we were sat by the entrance door and people were coming in and out and felt at times a bit surrounded by them.

   I ordered a vegetarian burger and was very happy with it, it was tasty, a good size and had a decent portion on fries. My partner ordered the pheasant on the specials menu and was very disappointed, the seemed to be overcooked and very dry whilst the sauce was runny and had little flavour. I had profiteroles for dessert, I wasn’t expecting them to be filled with ice cream, I thought this was extra on the side, this would’ve been fine but the ice cream had hard chunks of caramel which I normally enjoy eating but I was scared of breaking my teeth when chewing the pastry. It was fairly quiet inside with some nice music softly playing in the background

   We have recently enjoyed visits to the Anvil and the food has been very good. However, we called in for a roast on Sunday evening and found the meal a little disappointing. Roast potatoes were not roasted very much. Meat a bit dry and vegetables very few and far between. This is not really satisfactory for the quite high price. I hope you will take this criticism as intended to be helpful. I'm wondering if food was running short it being Sunday evening? Best wishes for your business.

   We were looking for a local pub that served gluten free meals and had a good menu choice. The Anvil at Pimperne met all of these needs. The menu choices were good including a 'specials board'. The staff were friendly and attentive. The ales were well kept, and the food was great value for money. I would recommend the 'pork belly bites' as a starter and the suet steak and ale pie for a main meal.

   Due to being a Sunday there was a limited menu but still lovely food.the waiting staff were very attentive polite and courteous.

    Four of us ate here on Saturday evening and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. There was a decent variety of options for the vegetarian diners in our party and all the food was piping hot and well presented. I can recommend the Truffle Macaroni Cheese, quite possibly the best I've ever had.
