   I thought it was very good. Table was fine, food is straightforward but very good, not pretentious, would recommend.

   We sat in the gardens top terrace and had a smashing Sunday lunch. Good kids menu. Dog friendly, just not in the restaurant which is fair enough. Nice ales on tap, well looked after. Friendly helpful staff, not too fussy. Looking forward to going back when I get the chance. Highly recommended

   Second or third visit. Didn’t really enjoy the burger - flavour? Dessert very good. Service very friendly and good Will come again

   The quality of the starter was excellent but the main course was fairly ordinary pub fare. Overall reflection: somewhat overpriced

   Found this pub through a review on The Telegraph online. I simply cannot disagree with any element of the review. From the warm welcome, to the very comfortable interior and views from the gardens to die for, it was all perfect. This is all before we get to the food which was exceptional. We cannot rate this high enough

   Very enjoyable lunch with tasty food well prepared. Would like to have had mashed potato with the pie and cabbage. Delicious pannacotta.

   Classic fish and chips was as good as it gets and, with impressive garden views to the north, my perfect spot for a summer lunch.

    Worth making the trip out to this beautiful village. The food was excellent, and the indoor and outdoor spaces are really great - excellent views from the back terrace. The service was a little bit slow and there seemed to be a little bit lacking in communication between staff (repeated visits back to the table to clarify our orders etc). But overall an experience I’d be happy to repeat.
