   This restaurant has has always been an old school favorite of ours for decor, food, service and cocktails but with much sadness and frustration we will never, ever come here again. Our sons booked a table for Father's Day for all the above attributes. We ordered drinks and steaks with our youngest trying the "Tomahawk" at our waiter's suggestion. It was big we were told but came on a really big bone. As always our food was terrific and then the bill came. The "Tomahawk" steak was $98.00! Our son was mortified. Stupid us, it never occurred to ask about the cost of this steak. With all the other steaks costing about $36.00 a $62.00 difference just never entered our minds. The waiter must have been thrilled. What a coup. We played it down and I chipped in. But I was upset and wanted to share my frustration with Taylor's After repeated attempts to talk to a manager or Bruce- the owner, I have yet to get a call back. Apparently there is never a manager on site to take a call and Bruce has yet to return the messages I've left with the lovely girl who's taken my calls. The take a way is this: buyer beware at Taylor's- ask about prices and if you should want to share a concern with management know that they are not interested. Oh, and if your kids want to take you to dinner here- make sure you have some extra cash. It won't help them feel less crummy and embarrassed about not being able to cover the bill but it will get meal paid for. L.A. is a town teeming with fantastic steak houses- there's no reason to not bring our business to one of them. So Taylor's- you may have aced a $98.00 steak from us, but you've lost our love and devotion forever.

   Wonderful Find! My partner and I happened to be in the area to see the Enchanted: Forest of Lights show at Descanso Gardens and made advance reservations at Taylor’s Steakhouse. We had plenty of time to enjoy a cocktail at the bar and have a leisurely meal. Boy, were we delighted! The atmosphere is definitely “old school” but in a good way---a step back to the days of fine dining without going overboard. Tasty sourdough bread and butter were delivered to the table as we sat down. The staff made sure our water glasses were always filled. Our server, Sally, told us about the day’s specials and explained some of the menu items. Very cordial and always there when we needed her. We both started with the chilled shrimp appetizer and it was fantastic! Each appetizer came with five jumbo (and they deserved the name!) shrimp on ice with a cocktail sauce with a nice horseradish kick. The steaks we ordered came with a choice of two side dishes (we picked garlic mashed potatoes, baked potato, fresh-cut corn and creamed spinach) that would have been extra-cost options at other steakhouses. The steaks were cooked to our specifications and were delicious. Since bottles of wine are reasonably priced, we opted for a full bottle, which we normally avoid due to price gouging at other restaurants. The food is well priced as well, so we splurged on desserts ordering ice cream and the homemade coconut custard pie, which was outstanding. We called over the manager, Elva, who we learned has worked there for 18 years, to pay our compliments on an outstanding dining experience. We’d be frequent customers if the restaurant didn’t happen to be 50 miles from home... If they ever open a south county restaurant, we’ll be first in line!

   Very good service for our group. 3 out of the 5 enjoyed their steaks. Two ordered the special Ribeye with the bone in while it was flavorful it was a little on the tuff size. All of the sides where good and the desert was wonderful. We will return but not order the Ribeye bone in again.

   This place has been in La Canada for years. It is an up-to-date steak house. The service is great, the food is fabulous and the parking is free. I had Halibut and it was wonderful. The rest of my party had the special, "Surf and Turf. They loved it.

   This was my third visit to Taylor's and each visit I have taken someone who has never been there before. My only recommendation would be for the owners to change the table covers as the last 2 visits, the table clothes have gotten caught on something and pulled things off the table onto the floor. Twice the last time... too long on the sides. Other than that, the food was FANTASTIC. I had the large Spencer with all the trim. I could not have asked for a better meal. If you want things to be a bit more intimate, do not sit on the bar side... wait for a table away from the bar. The back dining area is excellent for family, small groups or even an intimate date. My friends were all impressed and I am sure they will return as well. I plan to go back again within the month and try the outdoor area... Pricing is more than reasonable and I was actually surprised when the check came as it was less than expected. More tip... Home Run for Taylors... other than the table cloths... please fix it. Thank you

   We come all the way up from Orange County to have a great STEAK dinner. We were bringing my mom and having dinner with more local residents. I made reservations on open table and also called to confirm. When we arrived we were going to be seated OUTSIDE on the PATIO. This restaurant is old school and is dark with the red leather booths, and outside is a totally different feel and HOT. We did not want to sit out there and asked to NOT be and they found us a table. The service was not as good as normal however and that night was particularly busy for some reason.

   My husband and I dined here for the first time with another couple on a Saturday night and we loved it! The ambiance was old fashioned fun with big red booths and western-themed pictures on the walls! Our waitress was wonderful - seemed like she had been there from the beginning! The food was all great - steaks were done perfectly! The ONLY issue was they forgot to bring our creamed spinach and mushroom sides, but turns out we were so full after the appetizers, salads and steaks, we probably wouldn't have been able to finish them anyway! We'll definitely be back, and we'll be sure to try those sides! Fun evening!

    I've never had a bad meal at Taylor's. Great steaks! The service was superb too. A must if you want a nice dinner for the money.
