Tavern House is the creation of restaurateurs David Wilhelm and Gregg Solomon who have developed numerous Orange County restaurants over the past 25 years, including Kachina, Bistro 201, Barbacoa, Chat Noir, Diva, Sorrento Grille and French 75. The menu reflects a collection of Chef Wilhelm's popular signature seafood and comfort food dishes. A large centrally located bar drives a vibrant night time scene in what is arguably one of the best view locations in Newport Harbor. Tavern House has a beautiful 50 seat private room for banquets with full views of the harbor and a warm central fireplace.

    We had a delightful meal with friends last night. They had never been and were thrilled to find a new go to place. Disappointed to learn they discontinued Comfort Food Mondays. Hopefully, they will bring it back.

    Food is simply delicious! I had the prime rib hash with meat that was crazy tender and flavorful. Others had chicken & waffles, the salmon Buddha bowl, Tavern scramble, and huevos rancheros. Everyone was happy. We visited for brunch on Easter; obviously a busy day, but it sure did not affect our service. The only drawback was the noise level. We were seated in the smaller room. It was really packed and noisy enough that it impacted our ability to interact. Once it emptied out a bit, we could finally hear each other without straining.

    We had my Dad with us. He turned 100 a month ago. He had the Seabass and he loved it.

    Beautiful restaurant, nice staff, good food, great view for half the restaurant but we were seated in the bar (other side). We will return!

    Even on a foggy night, Tavern House delivered a fantastic experience. The misty harbor added to the ambiance, creating a calm, cozy mood that made the evening feel extra special. The house margaritas were a hit—refreshing and just the right kick. Dinner was delicious, with every dish thoughtfully prepared. Service? Top notch as always—warm, attentive, and effortless. Tavern House continues to be a go-to for great food, great drinks, and unforgettable coastal vibes.
