   They were able to accommodate 12 of us at short notice and served up some excellent bento boxes and other meals. Very good value, nice staff, unhurried atmosphere and a central location. Just bear in mind that it's pine benches and good value, not silver service.

   Service was poor and extremely slow, in particular by the guy who liked to think he was in charge. Not able to cater to a busy saturday night, too many fried sushi options and absolutely no explanation on the menu or by the staff. Even the classic California roll lacked taste and am sure the fish wasn't fresh. Good location but overpriced for quality of service and food on offer.

   I went to taro for a lunch date with some friends after it was recommended to me, and I do not regret it. Now, don't let your first impressions fool you as you walk downstairs into the restaurant, because it is such a lovely and well lit place. The waitress was lovely, and the menu had a large variety of dishes to choose from- I highly recommend the bento box or the seafood ramen! -for a cheap/ reasonable price. If you get too full just ask to take it away with you. I highly recommend going to taro as I think its a must go place for Japanese cuisine.

   As usual Taro is fantastic if u like variety. It's hard to choose and the portions are generous. Great for a quick lunch

   Booked based on reviews and first up I would say don't be put off by the entrance. Once you get downstairs the service and food are excellent and reminded me a lot of some of my favourite places in Tokyo. Food excellent, service quick but not pressurised and a lovely very relaxed atmosphere. Excellent value and cannot wait to return. Spider rolls amazing! Thank you

   Taro is a great place to catch up with friends. With a large menu spanning sushi, shashimi, curries, gyoza and bento boxes, there's something for everyone. The food is amazing value (particularly the bento boxes) and everything tastes delicious. Food came quickly but we did have to wait a while to give our order and for our plates to be taken away.

   I have been to Taros a lot but was disappointed this time. It was a busy evening, nevertheless it took 30mins for the food to arrive and also I ordered the Bento selection and they forgot my miso soup. I mentioned it to the waitress and she just shrugged. To add, I was charged 12.5% for a service which was appalling.

    The food was good but they brought our starters and mains out at the same time and refused to take the mains back whilst we finished the first course. Was overall disappointed the service, would only go back for a quick bite to eat as that is the only purpose it serves. If you want a nice dining experience then there's loads of better options.
