   We often chose Tarbells for special occasions and went Saturday for our wedding anniversary. The French wine selection was excellent. the food is gourmet and salads are always unique and fresh. The seafood and sauce were done to perfection. The dessert menu was small but the bread pudding was delicious. Our personal server was attentive.

   We had not been to Tarbell’s in many years and were pleased to see that they are still serving up wonderful ambiance and creative and tasty menu items. We will definitely go back!

   Always a great cocktail with Mike at the bar. Pizza a little undercooked. Still a wonderful meal

   Wrote this to the restaurant but haven’t back. No idea where to leave feedback or if you even care. I ordered the bolognese tonight at the main restaurant. It was served as a clump of pasta all stuck together on one side and sauce on the other. For $42 one would hope your cooks would understand that proper way to prepare a pasta dish. It’s really not that difficult. Even me as a matter understands the technique to mess pasta with the sauce. I am guessing they just don’t really care. No wonder the restaurant is 1/3 full on a Thursday night. How does one stay in business with that quality at those prices? Makes me wonder.

I had gone ahead and refunded your pasta when I first saw this (on 4/11), and shared your feedback with our culinary team.    The table was warped so it was tilted, the fillet came out well done as opposed to medium rare and without the crab added on top, as ordered. The re-done meal came out after ai had finished my meal. All around poor experience.

I have shared your feedback with our general manager & she is looking at the table to see what we can do to repair it. We hadn't noticed that it was warped, so thank you for making us aware of that. I have also shared the mishap of your steak being prepared at the wrong temperature & without the crab & the general manager is also taking the time to ensure our staff is properly supported so that this is not an issue moving forward.    This restaurant has been in our neighborhood for 30 years but we have never eaten here. We decided to try it out because of their new "no seed oil" policy which is important to us. We were very pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed it. The ambience is very nice, with a lot of difference table options. We reserved for the patio but because of the heat we were moved inside without a problem. The service was very friendly and fast. We just had shared small plates. The Caesar salad was good, and a huge portion which they split for us. the mussels were the standout--delicious! The pulled mozzarella was good too. This is not an inexpensive restaurant but well worth it. Even though it has white tablecloths, the customers (including us) were casually dressed, although we also came at 5:00 pm, when they opened.

   Tarbell’s never disappoints! I had the sea bass and it was cooked to perfection, not overdone yet had a nice crust on top. My husband had the big meatball and that was good too. I really like the atmosphere here, you don’t have to raise your voice to be heard. It’s a special occasion’ place for us that we’ve enjoyed over the past decade or so.

   Our service left a lot to be desired. The waiter brought a bottle of the wine ordered by the glass to the table and did not ask if I wanted to taste it before pouring in my glass. The bench seating is very crowded next to other tables and it is very noisy. Two orders were lukewarm-the manager did take off the bill which was appreciated. The sea bass was cooked very well, and had nice flavors. Ceasar salad had no flavor. Overall, a big disappointment.

    My husband and I had two of the classic dishes we’ve enjoyed over the years at Tarbell’s. He had the scotch beef which came on a bed of fluffy potatoes with perfectly cooked fresh carrots. The beef is rich and fall apart tender! I had the house made ribbon pasta with chicken fennel sausage. The complimentary basil oil and French bread were delicious! Our server was lovely and we felt most welcome. Food service was timely, ambiance was relaxed and inviting. Congratulations to Mark Tarbell for still being the a standout in the Arizona culinary scene!
