For birthdays, we will personalize the cake plate if you provide the name of the birthday person.

Overall, it's overpriced for what you get. Yes, I get it—we are in Waikiki, HI; however, this was by far the most disappointing place we dined at over the week! It was just fundamental service and food for a premium place with pricing!

Absolutely exceptional evening. From start to finish, the dinner experience was second to none. The servers were excellent in every way. The chef’s cooking show was entertaining and the food he prepared was absolutely the best. I have recommended this outstanding restaurant to so many of my friends, and will continue to do so. Thank you Tanaka for a great evening!

Overall, if you want a good meal and nice ambiance you go to Tanaka of Tokyo Central in the heart of Waikīkī. It is central (no pun intended) to everything on Kalākaua Ave.

A Must-Visit in Honolulu – Our Family Favorite! Tanaka of Tokyo Central is one of our absolute favorite places in Honolulu! The service is always incredible—welcoming, friendly, and on point every time. It’s our go-to spot as a family, and especially for our teenage daughter, who adores the food and the whole experience. Every time we come here, we create memories. It’s become a little tradition to take the famous photo and enjoy the chef’s funny tricks and impressive skills. The food is consistently delicious, and the atmosphere is full of joy and laughter. If you’re visiting Hawaii, this place should definitely be on your list. Tanaka of Tokyo Central is more than a meal—it’s an experience we look forward to every time.

8年ほど前に伺った際はパフォーマンスも上手で料理も美味しかった。今回伺い、特にパフォーマンスが残念でした。全然楽しめませんでした。料理も微妙になっていていい思い出が悪い思い出に塗りかえられました。

despite having a reservation, we waited over 15 minutes at check in and then it took a very long time for the chef to come out and start cooking. we witnessed a larger party table come in after us and they were served their food before us!
