Tana is an upscale Italian restaurant drawing from local Chef Michael Gulotta's New Orleans Sicilian upbringing as well as his time training in the Liguria region of Italy.

Experience cocktails in our comfy lounge with jewel toned plush booths and ambient lighting. Dine in the classically Italian styled main room with wood beams or The Villa, which is light and airy with lots of natural light, as if you're dining al fresca on the Sicilian coast.

Went to celebrate birthday. Cocktails tasty but very small considering the price. Ordered the seafood stuffed pork chop. The pork chop was tasty but had no seafood stuffing. The server agreed that it was not right and took it back to kitchen. The server said that they had not stuffed the pork chops that night and encouraged us to order something else. Menu is very limited and we do not eat veal so ended up ordering a filet which was $20 more than the pork chop. Filet was okay, but not stellar. Manager came over and said that the pork chop we received was the only one not stuffed and apologized. When we got the bill they had taken the pork chop off and charged us for the more expensive mediocre filet dinner. Overall was disappointed and felt like it was a bait and switch. Really think that the management thinks they are more upscale and special than they really are. Sad part is that I live within walking distance of the restaurant and would go frequently if I felt that it provided great quality at a fair price.

We were excited to try Tana since we love Maypop in the CBD. The restaurant is beautiful with a mix of colors and textures. The table bread was chewy and hard. The creamy Italian salad was outstanding! The meatballs were a packed, stiff meat mixture and had little flavor. Although they seem to be trying not the best Italian or we visited on an off day.

We were a party of four in a beautiful and comfortable space. Both servers of the evening were attentive and knowledgeable, and the food was excellent. We had an all-around lovely dinner experience. Kudos to Chef Mike on his cuisine and his staff.
