   The Swan is looking great after its completed renovation, service and food were great. So glad the scotch egg stayed on the menu

   Unfortunately when I got to the pub there was no where to park. I tried the station and that was also full and the village hall people were trying to phone to park ahead of me and had been trying to call for a while. So I abandoned my booking and went elsewhere. I accept parking is sparse at the pub but probably won’t try again for this reason Shame because it’s a beautiful spot and I’ve previously had great food and a place to park

   Dear Joanne Its very disappointing to receive 1 start rating purely based on car park availability. We work very hard on our reputation and always trying to improve on many thigs but sadly car park in not one of them. There is nothing we can do about the size of it, its completely out of our hands.    Great to see the pub open again after such a long closure after flooding again. Great pub and one of the best locations anywhere. Nice friendly and helpful staff.

   We booked for lunch and were given the table we asked for overlooking the river. Food. Starters were ok (not great). The toast supplied with the Pate was burnt. Main courses (about an hours delay). Fish curry good - Steaks x2 were a disaster. Ordered Medium Rare and Rare - both were on the wrong side of medium. Incorrect type of chips supplied for one of the steaks. Asked to speak to the 'Manager'. Initially she tried to be overbearing with no apology (another of your customers said to us afterwards - 'she was rude'). Eventually she apologised after listing many excuses - busy, she was serving in the bar (?), etc. The steaks were deducted from our bill. We didn't stay for dessert or coffee. Payment card system needs a review. In order to split the bill staff had to return to the main till to split. The main poistive of our visit was the view of the river!

Our manager did her best to explain the delay and apologise, our intention was never to come across as dismissive or overbearing, though we understand that tone and timing can impact how things are received.     Seated in area looking out onto river. Service just right; not hurried and certainly not slow. Good and varied choice of menu and wine list. What more could you ask for?
