Sussex Pass opened in December 2020. Our restaurant is designed to showcase the finest produce in Sussex and Kent while supporting local makers, growers and communities. Situated in Wadhurst village, in the picturesque heart of the Weald, Sussex Pass at The White Hart offers a stylish and intimate dining experience that celebrates the county’s incredible food and wine and reflects the passion of the producers who reside there.

Our local community and suppliers have been hit hard by Covid, so we wanted to create a new food and drink offering that draws solely on the surrounding area. Our (also local) Head Chef Adam Sear has created a food offering that not only draws from the seasonal bounty of this beautiful part of the country, but celebrates and elevates it.

During the summer we have our BBQ Pit where you can host your summer gathering. We will prepare all the items, such as locally-sourced, pasture raised meat, sides and salads, which you order, and then cook yourself on one of our Big Green Egg BBQs. If you prefer, for an additional cost, one of our chefs can come out to cook for you. This is up to 10 people when rules allow. Please contact us about bigger parties. We can also offer our A La Carte feast menu for big events or special occasions.

A bit ambiguous - pub supper ambience, limited menu, but rather good food. Wouldn’t choose it for special occasion though the food is up for it. A bit pricey for a table in the bar.

We loved our first dinner at White Hart in Wadhurst. Sam was amazing - going through the menu, sharing the ethos of the kitchen and choosing just the right wines for our meal. Great to have this in the village. We will be back. Kate & Stephen

Great atmosphere. Well distanced tables. Very friendly and helpful Manager and staff. Loved the local Pinot Grigio the Manager recommended. Delicious bread rolls and peppers as appetisers. Our daughter chose the pork dish which was delicious. My husband the steak equally yummy. Our dog was in luck as husband doesn’t have large appetite! My Tuna was a little too salty and on reflection wondered how it could be called locally sourced. We sadly didn’t have time for the puddings as had to be back for Emma Radacanu’s epic final. All in all would thoroughly recommend. It was our second visit and definitely will be back for more.

Very good food in a village where there is no competition. Good winelist as well. Noise level rather high (wooden floors probably exacerbate this). It would be nice to have a pudding wine available.

We went on a Sunday so the two courses for £16 is ridiculously good value. I dont think you can find anything as good for that price in the area. We've eaten there on a weekday evening as well and food was great. Staff were friendly and helpful as ever. They seem to have settled more into their style now since reopening and service seems more natural than perhaps it was a few months ago. Will definitely keep going back!
