   I have been to Sushi Zen many times but what happened. I tried to order an appetizer, Wagyu beef, only to be told they were out of it and then ordered wine and when we wanted a second bottle they said we had had the last bottle. Very disappointing. The food we were served was very good but the problems colored the overall experience. Are they having problems?

   The bar seating is quick, efficient and excellent quality. You can be in and out in 20-25 minutes.

   I was most impressed by the service at Sushi Zen. Our server, Kamika (sp), was friendly and patient. She eloquently explained various dishes to us, and had a great sense of humor. She is the main reason that we plan to return. The chef's talent was commensurate to Kamika's gift for waitressing. The food was delicious. After sharing the tofu mushroom and seaweed appetizers, my friend and I ordered one salmon, one tuna, and one eel roll. The flavors were at the same time distinguishable and complementary.

   Sushi zen is a very nice place to have a business lunch. You will find many business people there as it is located in midtown. I got the bento box and it was very well presented! The food was pretty good but the raw fish did not amazed me. The service was professional. The atmosphere is well done. Baboo and sakura!

   I've been dining at sushi zen over 20 years. They've changed management and I find the good and service very inconsistent. Ranges from excellent pristine sushi lunch to inferior poor quality pre theatre dinner. I'm puzzled about this...

   The service was excellent. The tuna sushi that consists of several types of tuna was very tasty. The umi sushi basically melted in your mouth.

    One of the kindest, warmest restaurants you'll visit in NYC. The food was good too. No pretensions here. Just good sushi and great service.
