   Great fish, rice was a bit hard surprisingly. Awesome tea. Attentive and knowledgeable staff. A bit on pricey side.

   I ordered a $50 bottle of 300 ml sake. When the bill was brought to me I had been charged $110 for the 720 ml version of the same bottle. When I pointed out the error, without a word of apology, the waitress brought me a new bill with the sake bottle now charged at $60. When I reminded her that the price on the menu was $50, she wordlessly brought me a third bill with the correct charge. The restaurant charges 20% for service. I paid $44 for the service of being robbed. And to add insult to injury, the restaurant has a line for tip (they don't even call it additional tip), when you sign the bill. If you want to be robbed blind, this is your place.

   Visiting DC for work from Seattle and often travel to Japan where I get great omakase and service (in Seattle too) so maybe my standards are too high. First of all, the omakase chef was not Mr. Ogawa as the website will leave you to believe. The main chef was not even Japanese and neither were any of his staff or team. I wonder if this restaurant has recently been sold by Mr. Ogawa. The omakase was ok but not worth almost $350 for one person with 2 beers. Also there are fruit flies and small gnats all over the restaurant and they attempt to land on the food. This restaurant would not pass basic Japanese standards for quality and cleanliness. I am sorry to write these things but I hope the ownership of this restaurant can take better care of their premises and also be up front about the exorbitant cost of the food. I would expect a near complete remodel and a much better experience for $350 per person.

   Way overpriced. After an 800 dollar bill, the waitress told us to “hurry on up” and leave while we were still drinking our 200 bottle of sake. The ambiance was bad; lots of fruit flies. The biggest disparity between quality of food and service I’ve ever seen

   The food was delicious! The sushi was so fresh, presentation was beautiful, and compilations were unique. However, the bland, cheap and rundown exterior and interior take a lot away from the experience. There is not one piece of artwork on one wall. I did happen to notice a beautiful mural on the ceiling when leaving. Most problematic were the gnats that attacked our table for a solid hour — falling in my husband’s beer, etc. I can get past the lack of ambience for great food, but the gnats will make it hard for me to want to go back. Maybe in cold weather?

    There was a hair on the food, flights around us on our plates (at least 5), to get water was almost impossible after paying $600 for 2 people. I don’t know how they can be in business. Susana
