Craftsmanship at its finest is displayed at Sushi Noz, where guests experience our seasonal omakase menu curated nightly by Chef Nozomu Abe. Known as "Noz" to his friends, Abe-san is part of a movement from Japan advancing Edomae-style sushi, incorporating aging and preparation techniques that date back to Japan's Edo period. Upon entering the restaurant, guests are transported by the Sukiya-style wooden interior, which was assembled using more than a dozen types of cedar. The centerpiece of our first dining room is our 8-seat, 200-year-old hinoki wood sushi bar and traditional ice chest, where Chef Noz refrigerates the evening's neta selections. Our second dining room features a sushi bar made from tamo ash wood, which accommodates an additional 6 guests. We welcome our guests in true Japanese hospitality, offering two nightly seatings at each counter.

On these two nights, Chef Mei Kogo will take over the Hinoki Counter, and Chef Noz will be in the Ash Room at 5:45pm and 8:45pm. Additionally, Chef Noz will be away on May 19th and 20th. We are thrilled to welcome Chef Mei Kogo to Sushi Noz for a 2-night pop-up at the Hinoki Counter. Chef Kogo helms the counter at her namesake restaurant Meino, which opened in 2023 and quickly joined the ranks of Tokyo's highly acclaimed and impossible-to-book sushi-ya. Chef Kogo formerly served as sous chef at Sushi Arai, where she perfected her approach to edomae sushi and cultivated an interest in wine, eventually becoming a certified sommelier and training for a year in Burgundy. On May 1st and 2nd, Chef Mei brings her acclaimed omakase to New York for the first time. We are delighted to welcome this trailblazing talent to the Hinoki Counter for this truly special pop-up event. PLEASE NOTE: we cannot accommodate any dietary restrictions for this experience. All sales are final and nonrefundable. The menu price does not include gratuity.

Sushi Noz is definitely worth it for the experience. The entire evening is focused on you and the chef and exploring different foods from Japan. While sushi is the main course, the chef did a great job with introducing some lesser known dishes for appetizers before moving onto the sushi course. The service is impeccable. The staff move at such rapid speeds but you would never noticed because they know the perfect intermission between the plates to attend to you. The environment makes you forget you're even in new york and you've suddenly been teleported to Japan. This is an authentic omakase experience that I've never encountered before.

The best sushi we have ever had in our lives. It was also our engament dinner and they made us feel so special, it’s such an intimate dining experience from the minute you enter until the moment you leave Noz is there to greet you. The wine list is great, we had a bottle of yura Riesling and a glass of Kris. Perfectly paired. This place is special.

We celebrated our engagement here because we wanted a special meal to culminate an amazing day. The food, ambiance, and culinary experience was all incredible. We did the beverage pairing which was the cherry on top for an amazing dining experience. Can’t wait to find another reason to celebrate and go back
