Westchester’s Sushi Nanase is a veritable institution, helmed by sushi sensei Yoshimichi Takeda, who worked at Nobu for many years. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting and does not allow walk-ins, so be sure to book a reservation in advance of your visit. While Sushi Nanase has many excellent dishes for diners to choose from, the main specialty is the Omakase – a four-course meal handcrafted by chef Takeda, which requires reservations to be made many weeks in advance. Some examples of what you can expect during the Omakase include the miso-slathered Chilean sea bass, the truffle-topped fresh sea scallops, the mushroom and pepper salad, the sweet potato with steak-like shiitake mushrooms and the Japanese grape, the fresh pear sorbet with ginger dressing for a final course. Be sure to enjoy a fine sake with your elegant meal.
