Sushi Ko makes tantalizing Japanese cuisine and crafts exceptional sushi in its inviting and relaxing Berkeley eatery. For starters, the yakinasu grilled eggplant and the cloudy miso soup with enoki mushrooms are served hot and taste incredibly fresh. Some of Sushi Ko’s specialty entrees include the deep-fried fish katsu, the beef teriyaki yakimono and the chicken curry katsu donburi, all of which are perfectly prepared. Of course, Sushi Ko is all about the special sushi rolls. Popular rolls include the Obama-Hama roll, spicy Hamachi topped with fresh Hamachi and tobiko, the scallop-topped salmon and avocado Romeo and Juliet roll and the chopped scallop, tobiko and avocado spicy hotate roll. There are also rolls for vegetarians, such as the plum and mint umeshiso maki and the asparagus tempura topped with avocado and eggplant vegetarian dragon roll. Sushi Ko also offers delivery services, take-out, as well as convenient online ordering.

This is an unpretentious sushi restaurant that is easy to get to in Berkeley. However, should you desire something other than sushi be prepared for only adequate food.

It was my first time at the restaurant and thought that the food was very good. However, the service was really slow and they seemed to be low on staff to prepare and serve food

A fine neighborhood restaurant.. We often go there before the Berkeley Rep because the food is quite good and affordable and the staff is courteous and prompt when they know you're heading to a show.

I have been going to Sushi Ko for years and am always pleased that it is still thriving. I love that many Cal students are dining there. And I like that it is so close to the theater district. A perfect place for supper before a play.
