   We had higher expectations due to the fact that it was Mother's Day. Having been here before, we knew what to expect and that too was lacking, just in a general way. We still love this place, the hotel and the ambiance. That is of course why we continue to go; the food has never been the main attraction.

   We had a nice time on Mother's Day and enjoyed breakfast there. No buffet, order off the menu. A little pricey, but hey, it's the Royal Hawaiian Hotel so expected as much. Wait staff were friendly and helpful.

   It is good for multi-purpose. The reason whay I booked through open table was RH webiste said no reservation for BF at Surf Lanai. It is getting busy to have many guests so this system is very helpful to confirm my schedule.

   This is a nice outdoor setting adjacent to busy beach in Waikiki. Perfect for people watching. Service, ambience, and food quality are consistent with what to expect from a restaurant at a 5 star hotel-with prices to match. It may be too sunny or too hot for some, especially in the summer, but it was comfortable for March. We are locals and take out of town guests there all the time. Green salad with fresh seafood is excellent; be sure to tell your server if you prefer well cooked seafood. Sweet potato fries are to die for. The mai tai is as good as any in Hawaii.

   Good location, but poor service and lack of options in the menu. Difficult to find in the confusion of hotels/shopping malls of the waikiki area.

   We went there 3 times during a one week span. On our third visit, our waiter George remembered what we had ordered on our initial visit!!

   Had to wait for creamer for our coffee for about 10 min., after asking the waitress and the bus boy for some. Finally got attention of hostess who got us some. My kailua hash could have been warmer.

   We ate lunch at the Surf Lanai. The tropical drinks were very tasty and the food was very good. The best part about our experience was walking through the Royal Hawaiin Hotel and sitting next to the beach watching the surfers and paddle boarders. Expect to pay a premium for such a lovely environment.

    I've had a terrific lunch with superb hospitality and dishes at your place. My guest and I couldn't have asked for more. It was just perfect. Thank you very much for such radiant and warmth you permeate...
