   Our server provided an exceptional experience. She was warm and attentive - and remarkably accommodating of one guest's particular food limitations. She knows the menu items, ingredients, and preparations in detail - and her recommendations were spot on. It was a pleasure to be served by her.

   Flavours of all dishes were pretty spot on. Squid was my favourite dish! Pretty authentic tasting Chinese dishes that filled us up good!

   My friends and I (4 in total) shared many dishes. We LOVED the miami short ribs, Dan Dan noodle, silver needle noodle, braised mushrooms and egg tofu and the charred cabbage. The Black Pepper Lamb was alright, but didn't stand out as much in terms of flavour compared to the other dishes. Our server was attentive and was very pleasant to talk to. All of us have agreed that we will be coming back :)

   This was our first time at Sunny’s and we loved it! The food was delicious! Especially the Dan Dan Noodles, which were spicy. Keep in mind the Sichuan dishes have some heat! And the French toast was one of the most unique desserts I’ve ever had. Overall had a wonderful meal in a wonderful space. Only thing is it is hard to find the place! There is no sign outside other than a small piece of cardboard that says Sunny’s on it. Some better signage would be helpful!

   The service was quite slow, it took really long for the dishes to come out and by the time it did, some of them were cold. We got a bowl of rice and it took atleast 20 minutes to come to the table and by that time, most of the dishes were done.

   Did the tasting with pairings. Amazing way to get a bit of everything, the staff were so lively and although it is a casual and energetic restaurant I also felt well taken care of. It was so fun to sit at the kitchen table and watch the kitchen. Love the entrance, makes a normal dinner feel like a bit of an event. Food was perfect, everything was amazing with a few outstanding dishes; the squid salad, the brisket and of course the HK French toast and soft serve. Can’t say enough good about this place!

    My boyfriend and I chose Sunnys for our anniversary dinner and I think it may have been the best decision we’ve ever made. The service was unlike anything we’ve experienced, the perfect combination of—notices you dropped your chopsticks before you even do and has a clean set ready for you, yet not being so doting that it feels like you’re unable to have moments to connect with whoever you’re dining with. We had a very romantic evening, the ambiance was really cozy and warm yet polished and certified fresh (mint green tabletops and wall accents + glossy white-painted metal soup spoons? the hand feel on those was… indescribably satisfying). Sunnys is hands down the best food we’ve had in the last year and honestly maybe ever in Toronto. There’s so much we ordered but the star of the show, for me, was the HK French toast and the soft serve ice cream; highly recommend getting both to share and then combining. We got approx. 5 dishes to split not including dessert (1 cold, 3 hot and 1 charcoal + extra rice) and had a generous amount of leftovers; 3-4 dishes between us would have sufficed (this is rather subjective and depends due to different categories of dishes being larger than others, we admittedly f****d up by not accounting for dessert) but please don’t mistake this as a complaint, we were ecstatic to take this food home and cannot wait to reheat it today.
