Sungari celebrates the bounty of the Pacific Northwest by incorporating local, responsibly sourced ingredients into traditional, delicious Chinese food. Bean curd from Portland’s OTA Tofu, prawns from Oregon coast, poultry from Mary’s Farms, and locally grown produce are just some of the ingredients making the rounds in Chef Wei’s dishes. A menu that’s a nod to traditional Chinese cooking, it invokes influences from the diverse backgrounds and travels of its staff, and the cultural experiences that have imprinted their lives. House specials such as the Salt & Pepper Prawns, Stuffed Bean Curd with Minced Seafood, and Dry-Sautéed String Beans are not to be missed. This is my second time to this restaurant. The menu reflected new food items for spring. New paintings were hung for the season. New flowers reflected late winter selections. Otherwise, everything was as amazing and delightful as the first time I visited. The service was excellent, the food was fresh and delicious. The sauces are delicate and tasty. Nothing is overblown or overdone to hide the elegance and beauty of the natural food. I ate scallops. They were beautiful and large and had no gritty texture or fishy aroma or taste. They were truly fresh. Everything my friend and I consumed was marvelous. We will definitely be going back.

This restaurant did not honor our reservation. They refused to serve us the fixed price menu we had reserved three weeks in advance and were rude.

We had the three course duck dinner. It was fantastic! We added two additional dishes but wouldn’t have needed to. We have enough food for another meal. We loved our Valentine’s Day dinner. Thank you, Sungari Pearl❣️

It was Chinese/ Lunar New Year but nothing at all in the restaurant that spoke to this. Food was good but nothing special. Our server kind of forgot us and so had to flag down someone so we could pay our bill and get out on time to our event.

Great food with man gluten-free options on the menu. The service was very good as well as all of the dishes we tried. They have Salt-and-pepper chicken which I enjoy and is not on a lot of menus.

We have been going to this restaurant for years and it is better than ever! The menu is great, the food is colorful and cooked just right except for the duck which were mostly bones and over done to dryness. But other than that the food was great! The service is fantastic and friendly. The restaurant decor and atmosphere is beautiful and modern but the temperature is a bit chilly! Really great experience overall. Thank you
