Sumo prepare hibachi-style meals for their guests by frying rice and grilling fresh proteins on giant skillets built into the middle of the restaurant's tables. Although the delicious aroma of their food certainly commands attention, they capture the full admiration of their guests with stunning knife and fire tricks, such as summoning flames or juggling blades as they cook. Behind the sushi bar, they practice a less flashy form of knife work as they carefully slice rice, meat, fish flown in from Japan, and seaweed into bite-size colorful rolls and morsels. As sushi and hibachi dishes fight for dinner supremacy, Sumo’s decor celebrates the celebrity of sumo wrestlers in feudal Japan by showing their contests of strength beneath the rising sun and the adoration of kimono-clad fans as they walk the streets of cities and villages.

Hibachi is great but do not order lobster (came out rubbery) or salmon (everyone in my party that ate it felt ill the next day). We suspect that these items are not ordered as much and may have been as fresh as the more frequently ordered items. Shrimp, chicken and steak all tasted great and no complaints with them.

. Great food except for the 22% impose gratitude on our bill for a party of 5. The restaurant was empty with 2 other couples. I tought that was very outrageous

I'm going sum up the entire experience by saying anytime I look up to find a waitress standing over me, looking over my shoulder to see what I'm giving for a tip AND THEN going so far as to tell me what she feels I should give (in the face of poor service) a decision is made to never visit that establishment again!

It was a horrible dinner. They didn’t even recognize our reservation. It took ten minutes to get a drink. We finally got the bill and left. Will never go back again

Foods good. It's sushi! The hibachi portion I can't comment on but it sure sounded lively and fun over there! Good spot for a nice little date night.

Food was great. Service was pretty good. I had to get a high chair even though I noted the need for one in my Open Table reservation. They were a little slow in clearing off dishes and empty drinks. Don't get me wrong, we'll be back. We've been there four times.

It was good but this place use to be better. Service has gone up and staff are friendlier. We wet to the Hibachi table and it was fun but the fried rice had to much pepper and it felt that it needed more time frying. Noodles were o-k and the meat was excellent.
