   Wir sind sehr enttäuscht! Es war mein 40 Geburtstag, wir waren zu dritt. Unsere 17 jähre Tochter wollte nicht das 8 Gänge Menü essen und hat sich ein normales Steak gewünscht. Wir haben die Aussage bekommen „das gibt’s in der Rooftop Bar“, sie hat etwas vegetarisches dann bestellt, was für das junge Mädchen zu rauchig war. Wir waren die einzigen Gäste an dem Freitag Abend und man hat keine Ausnahme gemacht. Das hat die Laune letztendlich getrübt und der Kellner hat dann auf französisch gesprochen, was wir gar nicht verstehen. So hat meine Tochter 5 Stunden lang zugeguckt wie wir essen. (Gott sei Dank, gabs nachmittags noch Pizza). Mein Weinglas wurde nicht gewechselt, was ich bei einem Weißwein mir gewünscht hätte. Den Chef haben wir auch nicht gesehen, der bei einem 500€ Essen dem einzigen Tisch nicht Guten Tag sagen konnte. Ambiente ist schön, allerdings bleibt der Nachgeschmack von unvollkommen Service. Das sie keine Rücksicht auf die dritte Person genommen haben. Das was als besonders Highlight sein, ist leider eine unschöne Situation geworden.

   It’s an experience. It took about 3 hrs for the four course chefs menu with 3 small appetizers and one pre dessert on top of the 4 courses. The view of the river while dining is excellent. It has the feeling of. Private club and the presentation is world class.

   We have eaten in many fine restaurants over the years but Suba was a special treat. The service was simply amazing from the very first greeting at the door to the final goodbye. The dishes were unfailingly delightful and delicious, with a particular standout being the goat. The sommelier picked perfect pairings that complemented and enhanced each dish. On top of it all, the menu told a story that started with a Portuguese forest (complete with a smoke enhancement) and carried on through the goat sourced from a farmer the chef had known since he was young in his home town. Rarely does a restaurant do everything perfectly but this was the case at Suba.

   Fabulous tasting menu combined with excellent service. The Portuguese wine tasting is also the way to go. Very generous pours. It was a lovely evening with my wife on our anniversary. Would highly recommend.

   As soon as we arrived, they offered us a glass of champagne on the house and then they charged it without first informing how much it cost. I got sick in the restaurant because they left the vein in the lobster, I would never return to that place, I had to run out of there because of how bad I felt. It was not an exceptional meal as it should be in a Michelin guide restaurant where they did not take care of important details.

   It was really disappointing and way too concept driven. Patronising server with attitude of you will enjoy this astonishing food experience whether you like it or not. Overpriced under delivered pretentious nonsense

    My husband booked this restaurant based on good reviews to celebrate my birthday in Lisbon. They never acknowledged my birthday even though it was on the reservation. We have had chef tasting menu’s all over the world……and this was not in the same league especially for the ridiculous cost of over $400 US in Portugal, which is a less expensive country. We both ended up with a 5 course tasting menu, since they would not give us menus after asking a few times. I preferred to order ala carte, but ended up with the 5 course vegetarian tasting and 2 cocktails. Husband had the regular tasting with wine pairing. He never had a wine pairing that started with beer and ended with apple cider!!. It seems they spend more time on plating than the actual taste of food. Nothing wowed us and the portions were tiny. The presentations were full of silly gimmicks and the ambiance was stark and service was very slow. They also automatically put a 20% tip on the bill to put pressure on you to tip. If you choose not to, they have to redo the bill…no fine restaurant would ever do that, since it’s not traditional to tip in Portugal at restaurants, unless you feel it was superior. This restaurant was a total bummer and disappointment for us, especially being a milestone birthday for me. It was the only negative part of an otherwise wonderful vacation in Lisbon.
