Enjoy unapologetically authentic Thai food in the East End. All food is made from scratch by native Thai chef and James Beard Award winner for Best Chef: Texas Benchawan Jabthong Painter.

Chef Benchawan and her husband—who also spend time in their Bangkok home each year—have painstakingly built out a restaurant that would fit into Bangkok’s hip Thong Lor neighborhood, but they have located it in Houston. Expect trendy Thai vibes, music, strong cocktails and an adventurous wine list to accompany Chef Benchawan’s acclaimed dishes.

When booking your reservation, all children—regardless of age—must be included in the head count. The largest party Street to Kitchen can accommodate is 6 people. Food was good, service was good overall. A little bit slow initially, but after that no issues. Very spicy, true to what the waiter said!

How did this place get a Michelin star? My friend and I each ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai and the shrimp was undercooked. We only ate a few bites and asked them to take it away. I told the waiter about the issue. He apologized, but did nothing to make amends. Very disappointing.

Simply outstanding. I am not the biggest fan of Thai food, but this is not ordinary. Dishes are well thought out with plenty of flavor. The is a great feel of heat in the dishes. Enough to get there is spice, but not enough to stop you from wanting more. This place is a must try.

We were very much looking forward to it because we heard such good things, but I’ve had much better Thai at many other restaurants. I had to order a second dish because their green curry, which had nice but not extraordinary flavor, -and was soupy and not creamy-was so very spicy. I like spicy food but not to the extent where my mouth is in pain. I understand they just want to be true to their roots, but if they want people to be able to eat their food, being able to accommodate tolerance levels would be a gift to their patrons. Being a James Beard winner must make one more right than others about how food needs to be seasoned. The Phae Thai that I ended up with because- you could spice it your way-was just OK. My husband loved the Khao Soi, which is usually my favorite Thai dish. It was lovely of our waitress Jackie-who was wonderful by the way-to one as of the high spice levels in the dishes. Ambiance low-key and the prices are quite a bit higher than most Thai restaurants.

Loved the drunken noodles, kao soi and wagyu were also amazing. Our waiter John was super friendly and helpful, made for a very pleasant first time experience. We will definitely be back!!

Perfect early dinner after the theater. Loved the green curry with fish balls, pad see ew, krapow and ended with mango sticky rice. Don’t miss it.
