   Our favourite venue for meals with family and friends . Brilliant food, wines and service . Perfect venue for leisurely lunch.

   Having not gone before to Stone's restaurant, we booked probably rather hastily after the place where we wanted to eat had no tables available. We had no real grid as to what to expect. The ambience, the well trained staff and white table cloths were all wonderful and the canapés and small 'in between' dishes were very tasty. However the main course for us did not deliver. Haute cuisine is not our preferred eating style and the tiny portions, though artistically presented were a disappointment. We should have done our homework about the restaurant truly but after asking for the meat to be cooked 'medium' when it arrived my husband's duck was so very pink that to him it was inedible. He took my lamb and I his duck but I also had difficulty. I know many would say that that is the way to serve duck but not for us! The manager was very apologetic and did grace us with a free desert . Overall, if you like Haute cuisine and don't mind very pink duck, the restaurant would be actually a great experience. Very attentive staff but not overly so, obviously well trained, beautifully presented and tasty canapés and interim courses. For us though, an expensive night out that left us hungry.

   Excellent as always - pre dinner cocktails by the river , our favourite restaurant.

   Wonderful start to finish. Friendly staff and we even got a plate with 3 chocs on at the end with themed writing. Was lovely 5*****

   The food and service was excellent and will definitely eat here again. The only problem was we were sat next to a table of two couples who were very loud and their language left a lot to be desired! I have to say it did spoil our evening.

   Delicious food well presented. Served by friendly professional staff. Restaurant is immaculate throughout. We were celebrating my brothers birthday, although we hadn’t told the restaurant we assume they noticed it written on a voucher he used as they presented him with some petit fours on a happy birthday plate. So kind and thoughtful. Have been to Stones several times and have always received beautiful food by excellent staff. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

   The restaurant is very smart and spotlessly clean. The staff are very well trained and attentive. The service is with black gloves which makes it all very special. The most important part is the food and was why I didn’t give it a full 5 stars. The canapés and amuse-bouche were nice but a little bit tasteless. The starter was nice and everything presented beautifully but the main course was very very salty. I had a panna cotta for desert which was smooth, creamy and with a slight wobble (just as it should be), however it was accompanied by what tasted like very tart blackcurrant jam. This overpowered everything and would have been better left off. On the whole though I enjoyed it.
