About this restaurant

  • Romantic
  • Innovative
  • Neighborhood gem
There's something to be said for feeling "at home" even when you're out on the town. We'd like to think Stomping Grounds Grille is the embodiment of that feeling. It's that cozy Cape Cod cuisine you've grown to love with a funky, creative vibe.
We wanted to create a space that we enjoy being in every day, and by doing what we love, share it with everyone else. There are always good tunes to be heard as soon as you walk in, including a record player in the back for those who want the full interactive experience...order a drink, put on an old favorite, sit back and we'll take care of the rest.
Whether it's diving into the concert vault on Phishy Friday or polishing off a Lobster Benny while Stevie Ray serves you a side of "Little Wing" at our Blues Brunch, you can count on the soundtrack to match our home cookin'.
So long as there's music in the air, food on the table and new friends to be made, we hope you find a slice of home at Stomping Grounds Grille. See you soon!
Charlie & Helene

We were recommended by a friend but unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. Owner had 2 children sitting at the bar. 2 individual walk in customers that were seated at bar moved to 2 tables to get away from children. This meant that our reserved table was now not available and the staff did not have the courage to inform those people that they were reserved. Due to that we had to wait an additional 30-40 min for the table on our 19th anniversary all while sitting next to 2 not so quite children at a bar that could not be kept under control. Ok, it is what it is. We finally got seated. 15 minutes go by before asked if ready to order which is not horrible until we were then told (instead of when given the menu's) that 3 items were not even available in what is an already small menu. They also happened to be 3 of the 4 items we came there for. Then we waited another 30 minutes until they brought bread. During this time we witnessed the server do the same thing in regards to not mentioning what was not on menu to 3 other parties. 1 of which got up and walked out and the other 2 with obvious disappointment in there reaction. Well then here comes our entries. Hold on, I said to the server we never got the appetizer we ordered. She then said "what did you order?" Did I mention this place has only 6-7 tables. I'm my opinion they are trying to pass off as something they are not which is an upscale boutique restaurant. My scallop casserole dinner was bland and watery. Two good things which I want to pass along are the steak my wife got was very good and the owner paid for our 2 drinks because of the initial wait. Not sure if we will give it a second try but its possible.

We had a great meal, but seated directly in front of the band was a bit to noisy.

We started with the seafood chowder which was amazing. My husband and I both had a different cod dinner and both were cooked well. The roasted brussel sprouts and beets was very good. The table split a lava cake with vanilla ice cream and it was just enough for the four of us.

Food was excellent. Service was okay. We were rushed out as the next sitting was present. For a small place, that’s service is typically slow which I do not mind as the food is worth the wait, I was extremely put off by the waitress telling us that the next reservation was waiting. I realize that it was Valentine’s Day, but there was a nice band playing, and we had ordered dessert as well as drinks that were not finished. I will hesitate to visit this restaurant again.

We made reservations for 5:30 on Valentines Day. This was our second time being here, so we knew that food pace was a little slower than we are used to, but that's ok...the food is worth the wait! We asked to sit in the room opposite the music as it can get very loud and it makes conversation difficult. (No knock on the singers/guitar player - they were good) We sat at a cozy corner table, however, it was very, very cold because of a draft (it's an older home ). We had to ask that the heat be turned up. It wasn't just our corner, a couple that came in after us asked to be moved to another table because their corner was too cold as well. I have a feeling, given the age of the place, that the heat may be too warm in one room and too cold in the other??? I would suggest putting two small electric fan-type heaters in the corners of the room in case someone is cold. Other than that, we will go back because the food is very good and the waiters and waitresses really hustle!

My husband and I were sick so we didn't go but our guests did and had a wonderful and delicious time. They shared Charlie's chowder which is chock full of lobster, scallops and fish. It's outstanding. They also split a salad and the Swordfish dish. They raved about it as well as the service LeeAnn provided. Dave Yaeger was playing guitar and was terrific as always. We'll be back with them soon. We love Stomping Grounds Grille just sorry we missed this date.

Fantastic food. They did run out of one of the specials, but they certainly made up for it! Great food and ambiance. It is small so I recommend reservations. Highly recommended

We had another fun and delicious evening. Dave Yaeger was playing guitar. We had the soup of the day which was Portuguese kale. It was so flavorful and soothing on an extremely cold night. We both had the chicken with lobster tail, asparagus and hollandaise. Our waitress LeeAnn was slammed as the place was totally full. She managed to take great care of us. Charlie and Helene were terrific too. We'll be back soon!
