We are not a "Fine Dining" restaurant. We prefer to treat our guests as friends in our home. We take more open and friendly approach to our food service. Our food has a complex component and can take time to prepare. If you are in a hurry or have time constraints, please let your server know. We are happy to try and work within our guests needs.

Thank you for your interest in State Capital Kitchen. If you cannot find a reservation at the time you desire, please call the restaurant directly, as we have a few tables we reserve. Otherwise...........

    Made reservations for thanksgiving dinner that were cancelled the Sunday before by Open Table due to contract/service issues. When I called to see if the reservation would be honored, I only got the answering service and my message was never returned. Left my family scrambling to find a new Thanksgiving reservation.

    In spite of OpenTable's indication that we dined on this date, we did not, as the restaurant was closed. The last dinners were served October 31, 2018 and the building has been sold to a restaurant group in Santa Fe. RIP, State Cap. When you were firing on all cylinders you were great. It's unfortunate that the reservation system on OpenTable was not shut down in a timely manner, as people were left surprised and disappointed by the stealth closing.

    State Capital Kitchen is closed. I don't know when it will open, but Open Table is still taking orders. After driving there with our out of town guests, we were a little surprised to see it dark in there on a Friday night at 7PM.

    I arrived for my reservation and the restaurant was closed. Apparently someone bought the building and closed down the restaurant without shutting off opentable reservations or taking down the Open Hours sign in the window. Obviously, I can't recommend it.

    Made a reservation for our group of six well in advance of trip to Santa Fe. Reservation required a credit card and even got a confirmation couple of days before reservation saying any additional changes would need to be made directly with restaurant. We showed up and found the restaurant was closed. Extremely disappointed that one of only two nights our group was together in Santa Fe was a bust. Obviously it was too late to get into any of the other fine restaurants in this food mecca and we ended up eating at a deserted hotel restaurant.

    Closed! Not sure what happened, but we arrived at our reservation time (7:30pm on a Friday) to find the restaurant dark and parking lot empty. Called - answering machine gave us hours and nothing more.

    The restaurant was closed when we arrived- no note of the door- locked door, very disappointing they didn’t take it off open table- the answering machine still worked too- such a poor move of them not to be clear that are not open

    New menu can be tricky for vegetarians, dairy/gluten free diners, etc. But three out of four of us had an excellent meal. We remain longtime fans!

    Unfortunately they cancelled my reservation 45 minutes before we were supposed to arrive. The person said they were understaffed and could not fit us in.
