Starshines is like no other local restaurant. Starshines has made its presence known as the premier dining experience to hit the Henry County restaurant scene! The sophisticated and modern farm-to-table restaurant located right on McDonough Square offers indoor and outdoor seating. Whether you are dining with that special someone for date night dinner or enjoying Sunday brunch with the family, Starshines has something for everyone. The food is flawless, the flavors were so direct, the point of each dish so lucid, that the minor annoyance of the occasional shouting from inside the kitchen melted away. As always, the service is impeccable, from the hostess to the server and manager. Servers are knowledgeable when it comes to the menu and attentive throughout the entire dining experience. Noise level is reasonable and ambiance is hip and trendy with the dozens of Edison bulb fixtures hanging from the ceiling. The only consistent deficiency is the bar service. Upon each visit at Starshines, even when ordering immediately upon arrival, the food has been served to the table before the drinks which is disappointing to a person who loves to enjoy a few cocktails or glasses of wine and conversation leading up to the entree. Cocktails were delicious but seriously lacking in volume. A maybe four ounce serving of a Manhattan was served in a six to eight inch tall highball glass making the experience unimpressive. Similarly, the limoncello martini was served with the already tiny rounded martini glass half empty. Consistent and efficient bartenders are essential for retaining customers. Overall always a fantastic experience.

Food was great. Just need smaller portions. Service was outstanding even when our server was training someone new. Nice to have another wonderful restaurant on the square.

Always a great meal at Starshines. Tonights standouts were the lobster bisque and the seared scallops. Their cocktails are creative and tasty. Staff is always welcoming and Ash amakes you feel like family.

The service was great and the food was even better. So I tried the maple cranberry French toast and OMG that was so damm good. The truffle fries and the shrimp And grits was bussin! The servers and attendees are very very nice and hospitable. Definitely recommend this place if you are in Henry County

Lack luster customer service. Food was great but manager on duty (2/22) was not very willing to accommodate our party of 10. Stated table of 4 was reserved, then stated it was a bar tenders table but stayed vacant during the entirety of our dinner. Server was slow to react. Two appetizers made it to our table before our drinks. Was told there was no meatballs but table next to us was able to place order of meatballs. A place with so much potential has subpar customer service. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone until I can come back and see a shift in service.

I’ve been to this restaurant five times and it is a Hidden jewel. This would be a great restaurant anywhere, but it’s especially nice to have it in McDonough which lacks really good food. He only complaint I have is that they often served the main meal right on top of the appetizer you just ordered. So I just wait till I’m finished or midway through my appetizer to order dinner. But don’t let that discourage you. This is a good place.
