   The place is jazzy looking but still has to work on the basics. The host was very friendly & professional. The server seemed new to the profession, and forgot an item or two and had trouble answering basic menu questions. The menu was a little all over the place - breakfast all day, asian noodle bowls, trendy foodie items. I ordered a soup (did not receive) and a salad with shrimp which was nice. My friends liked their food too, but nothing was out of this world. Midway through the meal, gnats appeared at the table, which we were able to ignore thanks to all the wine. I might return to give it another try - but im in no rush.

   First time trying this restaurant. Menu looked interesting but I was dieting so I got the egg white omelet. It was good but I do think fruit might have been an option to home fries. People order egg whites for a reason , usually healthy ones. Anyway I will be back and try it again. Good looking place that I hope will succeed in this spot.

   While the food was good it took forever to arrive and someone else's food was actually delivered to our table at first by accident. Then the waiter never followed up to see if we wanted dessert or coffee. We were literally chatting with entree plates sitting in front of us and the check came! It seemed a pretty clear message of - you are done and it's time to leave.... This was a work dinner that we'd intended to be casual and a good impression for city etc. I chose starlite and belvedere square quite intentionally. Unfortunately it wasn't the best impression for client so a bit embarrassing.

   It is a shame because it appears whatever goes in this location, the service is just horrible. There was no bartender the entire night and we sat for nearly 20 minutes before we got up to find out if we had somebody that was waiting on us because we wanted to get drinks. But it was my daughter's seventh birthday and she loves the chicken and waffles there and she didn't want to leave, otherwise we would have walked out. After we got off to get our own drinks, we had trouble finding our waitress on several occasions and there were only three other tables in the restaurant. There were six tables outside that were four but then when we got her, she was very rude and condescending and we want to love this place because it's the neighborhood diner but every time it just seems to disappoint. Such a wasted opportunity for what could be a neighborhood gem.

   Not your average diner! We were very pleasantly surprised by both the interior of the restaurant and the menu. Food is great, especially if you like southern flavor- shrimp and grits, jambalaya, BBQ pork- all were delicious. I noticed they also offer options for the health-councious, so I am definitely going back to try the quinoa and seafood dishes they have (lobster sandwich looked really chunky and yummy). One thing on the menu you should not miss is the chia seed pudding. I picked it as a healthier alternative of dessert and it is the best I have ever had. I have not seen it on the menu of any other Baltimore restaurant- I always get it when an option (usually when I travel to Chicago or LA). The craft cocktails were very good. Service was great- the server was attentive AND very patient with us. We started as a company of two in one of the small boots. Later two more friends joined and we were moved to a bigger table without any problem or a hint that we were creating extra work. Atmosphere is fantastic; do not expect anything like a regular diner. The place feels cozy and is very clean. The live plants are a nice touch and there is outside seating, away form traffic and noise- a very appealing feature for me once the sticky weather ends and we get cooler (less humid) days and evenings. As a whole we had a great experience at the Starlite.

   When we arrived for our reservation, we were told they were short-staffed and we would have to wait a long time for a table and for food. Now, in fairness, it was July 4, but I don't think they should have even taken reservations if they couldn't provide reasonable service. We planned to see a movie after brunch so we couldn't wait with uncertainty and had to leave. It's a bummer because it looked like a great menu.

   We were pretty underwhelmed, especially in comparison to the restaurant that was here prior. Got the french dip and a salad w/ steak. Was very empty for a Saturday night.

   we were greeted and seated promptly by a gracious hostess. Menu was presented and we reviewed the options, which were varied,. Food was served timely after the waitress checked on us several times because we spend more time at the table than was ordinary for two women. I will recommend Starlite to others and will visit again.

    We went to celebrate Mother's Day. Our party of 7 all enjoyed our food and the service was very good. There a a large variety of food to choose from on the brunch menu. There is a lift to get to the second floor which was helpful because one person in our party has a walker. Will definetly eat there again.
