   Only burgers left to order and no table service for 2 tables of 9 booked months in advance on. Twickenham rugby day. Queues ridiculous and food well below par

   St. Margaret’s Tavern has been the venue for some superb lunches and suppers over the years. Sadly our most recent meal was bland and incredibly dull. The service, as always, was outstanding. Let’s hope that this much loved pub is just going through a bad patch.

   The food was incredible but we were really let down by the service. It was so hard to get anyone’s attention. Sat down for 20 minutes before we got offered a menu then another 15 to be able to order. When trying to order dessert and then the bill it was a lot more waiting. The pub really wasn’t that busy at all so it was really disappointing and we ended up being in there for nearly 3 hours.

   Booked for '2 diners' on OpenTable at 18.00. Walked in to lots of men shouting at the Aston Villa / Arsenal football game and the restaurant hosting two large parties with a deafening level of noise. Staff asked me whether I had booked to eat or to drink as he only had tables to serve drink. We left without ordering anything. Lots of people clearly having a good time however - as a dining experience on that particular evening a complete disaster. I'd like to try again on a quieter day.

   The booking for 10 was made a few days before and accepted. On the day they called to say there had been an error and the couldnt accommodate us at 13:15 as they had a large festive party in and kitchen needed to close until 4. So we could cancel or change plan. We changed plan to arrival at 3:30 for drinks and to sit down et at 4 On arrival the lady who called wasnt around and there was a front of house whose story as to why we couldnt sit in the dining area was “inconsistent”at each interaction. We relented and sat in pub area, not ideal as with three children under 8. The lady returned and was very nice and helpful but she was woefully understaffed and over worked. We wouldnt return due to the attitude of the guy in all honesty.

   We went for Sunday lunch. They were short of staff but the guy who served us was excellent and attentive. The restaurant was quiet. Food was delicious. Would definitely return.

   Warm atmosphere, great food and excellent and efficient service. Special mention to Holly for great service and recommending the sticky toffee pudding- large portion floating in sauce.

    Food to a very long time to arrive and was very average . Table was dirty when we sat down and not wiped before food arrived. However, bar staff were super friendly and the outdoor area is pretty. Much more suitable for a few drinks than a place for dinner.
