   Amazing food and good value for money. Definitely recommend afternoon tea to everybody.

   We enjoyed a beautiful Sunday Lunch at a brilliant price. Great service too. Definitely recommend, and we will be back!

   Sunday lunch 2 courses great value for money. Would have given 5 star if they hadn't run out of mint sauce for the roast lamb & they forgot to charge for 1 bottle of wine which we owned up to & did pay for. The roast was lovely & huge for big appetites. A bit quiet for a Sunday but probably very busy at other times. Would definitely go back

   Good food at a great price, friendly staff and excellent service ,thoroughly enjoyed the lunch menu ,you would be hard pushed to find somewhere better at this quality and price, will definitely be visiting again

   I have eatend here many times of an evening and always been pleased with the food and the service. My family ate here prior to a Matinee theatre show and I was blown away by 1) The quality of the of the food, 2) The quantity of the food and 3) The quality of the service for such an amazing price! Will certainly recommend to all of my friends and I will certainly be back for many lunch time treats! Simply a must when in Liverpool!

   St. John's restaurant was possibly the worst restaurant meal I have ever had in England. And it was on the last night of my visit. I had hoped to have a good meal to celebrate my trip, but this ended my trip on a sour note. For dinner I ordered Potteed Shrimp, braised lamb shank and a class of Merlot. The potted shrimp consisted of tiny canned shrimp that looked as though they were cooked three days before and were in a greasy butter souplike fluid. They were disgusting. The lamb shanks also we're obviously cooked several days before, they were totally dried out and flavorless and served in a thick gravy that tasted instant and very salty. The shanks were served with mashed potatoes that were gluey. They tasted as though they may have been instant potatoes. And for some reason there were raw branches of Rosemary stuck in them. I barely ate any of the shrimp or the lamb, or the potatoes… And yet the server, who looked as though he was 18 years old, never asked if there was anything wrong. Even the class of wine was horrible. It tasted like it came from a bottle of €2 wine from the ASDA. The ambience was very 1960s… And not in a good way.I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone for any reason. The only positive remark I have to say is that I did not become ill after eating the food. The sad note is that after I left I walked passed what looked like a fabulous restaurant where I could have gone to actually have a great last night dinner.

   Had a fabulous meal here. Service was excellent, staff very friendly, food absolutely delicious and decor very comfortable. Wine was a reasonable price per bottle too! The restaurant was separate from the bar area, but not closed off so the ambience from the bar provided good (but not too intrusive) background noise. Excellent band on later in the evening so we moved into the bar area after the meal and partied!! Would definitely recommend.
