   This was not authentic Cuban food. The bread was stale and not Cuban bread. The food was very bland and drowned in garlic to try to make up for the lack of flavor. The steak was very tough and the fried plantains were not at all crispy. If you want good Cuban food find another restaurant.

   Delicious food. Garlic shrimp app was great as well as the shrimp wrapped in plaintains and deep fried. Steak and paella top notch.

   We went for a girls weekend. Dinner was amazing, service was great. We were able to converse without shouting. Owner came to our table he was very warm and friendly. Will definitely go back.

   Everyone was very happy. I had the marinated steak with black beans and rice My wife had the Pulled pork. My sister in law raved about the Cuban Bowl My brother in law had the seafood bowl The shrimp scampi and sausage appetizer were great. Soup was excellent Finished it off with coffee and the ice cream chocolate/banana desert. Service was tremendous!! Thanks John/Howell

   First things first, it's BYOB, which is great and keeps the cost down. It's not so great if you forget this. Having prefaced my review such, this is an interesting neighborhood gem, for sure. if you like Cuban food already, then you won't be disappointed in any way with the cuisine. It's tasty. We had two entrees: the snapper and pork with rice and black beans. Both were outstanding, with large but not crazy portions. The service was very good, the hostess was a buzzing bee working hard to keep everyone seated and ensured the trains ran on time. The waitress we had was charming and very knowledgeable about the food. With regard to the ambiance, it's important to take a good look at the photo of the restaurant. It's a free-standing, unremarkable small structure. It is small inside and by 7 it was full. Nonetheless, it's clean and enjoyable. This is a casual restaurant for sure. At least two gentlemen declined to remove their baseball caps while they dined.

   As usual, the meals at Spanish Olive were excellent. They were short of wait staff that day but still managed to get us fed in a timely manner.

    The food was absolutely delicious. We started off with empanadas and they were delicious. My wife ordered one of the specials which was a steak & shrimp dish and she said it was fantastic. My daughter & I each ordered the Pernil & it was stellar. The pork was tender and flavorful beyond words. My daughter’s friends each had paella and not only was it delicious, but their portions were plentiful. All entres came with a complimentary soup which was white bean & chorizo and it was fabulous. The service was great. The hostess who greeted us was friendly and our server was insightful and friendly. It was all complimented with live classical guitar that wasn’t overbearing & didn’t interfere with conversation. Like the food & experience the music was perfect (and the guitar player was friendly too). I’d go back here in a heartbeat.
